Talk of Barca having an interest, figure reported in The Mail as £12 million.
He's coming off a good season, can tackle and pass, he's a pretty much box-to-box player. I'd love to nab him for £12 million, though I reckon Arsenal would want to hold off for a lot more than that. I'd go as high as £20 million.
Thoughts gents?

Top player. Doubts over his injury record, but any player Barca seem to be looking at, we should at least have an eye on the situation.

EDIT: @ moc - Did you really think Wenger was going to let City buy two of their best players last summer (Clichy, Nasri)? Or before that (Adebayour, Toure)?

I think Phil Jones could do as good a job as song in there so I personally dont see the point in signing this type of player. Fingers croosed we do improve CM or I will be so disappointed. We surely surely cant go another window without addressing this area.?? |

Probably not for me. He is a decent passer and tackler, but gets caught out of position too often. Next to no goal threat. Weak with the ball in his feet. Very hot headed. Should have seen the red card several times, but he has escaped time and time again due to hopeless and virtually blind refs. No doubt that would change was he to join us. Wenger would rather sell to Tottenham than us. It's just not going to happen. And I for one am happy with that. We don't need him. The point about him having a good link up with RvP just makes this prospect even more remote. As I said, Wenger would never ever ever let RvP and Song leave Arsenal and join us. Are we getting Wilshere as well? |

Definitely. He was an average player until last season when his passing improved a whole lot. I'd have him for 15 million. Would be just what the doctor ordered for us. But I wouldn't play him and Carrick in the same team.
About Wilshere - He gets talked about a lot here. He's ok. Dunno if people buy in to the hype that he is excellent just because he is English. Also he will be coming back after a long absence. May not even be as good as he was before. Potentially, Cleverley can be as good as him. I'd take Song over him any day.

Song is quality, I'd welcome him with open arms as he'd definitely improve our squad. Gets stuck in and can pick a pass.
