Good player. Between having no player and Song , i'd go for Song. But he does get out of position and then gets into tackles that aren't needed and as Moc says the changes are he'd see red if he was with us. Still we should at least pip in, just to see, if nothing else how this goes.

He's developed into a good player but he's a holding player, United don't really play with a defensive holding player. Suppose we do with deep lying playmakers now, but still.

I disagree from what I saw last season. I agree he made strides and had a good year, but a lot of that stems from him taking a box-to-box role rather than holding. He was involved way more in attacking play to be deemed a holding player. Probably left them a bit more exposed too. He'd actually do well with someone happy to sit back and cover like Carrick. I actually think he'd do really well here, he's the mould that most people seem to want, strange that people seem disinterested. He also managed to completely boss the City midfield shortly before they owned us.

Can we get barca's Scouting team. They seem to be able to pick some damn good players and deals at right price.

A lot of the players only go for a low price because the player makes it clear they only want to go to Barca and/or teams don't bother going in for them because they know they'll want to go to Barca over them. We wouldn't have got Alba for 14m euros.

Barca's scouting team is nothing great. That is the same scouting team that picked Ibrahimovic to be twice as good/valuable as Eto'o remember. And their external buys have been pretty obvious ones. Fabregas, Alba, Sanchez. Nothing of great intuition or scouting nous there. As tommo said, the players themselves want to go to Barca so they push for the deal and voila it is done and that too at a good price. What I want from Barca is La Masia.

Nay, not going to happen.
As another poster pointed out, Wenger ain't going to be letting two of his players go to of all clubs United.

song is a good player, not a top player. vieira was a top player. wouldn't really fancy song at united This.I think his positioning is quite poor for a DM too, how many times are Arsenals CBs exposed compared to ours when Carrick is playing?

Sorry, but are you saying that Carrick does a good job of protecting our back-line? Because don't get me wrong, I like Micheal, and he screens very well. But when players drive at our back-four our midfield is entirely porous.

Song would fit the bill perfectly for what we are currently lacking in midfield.
In saying that, its not going to happen.

Of course he does a good job, if you want to see porous look at the games Carrick missed at the start of last season.
When teams drive at our backline Carrick is not the problem(while I would like to see a more aggressive MC this is what he does), the two Grandads standing holding their hips on the half way line are more to blame in my eyes.

I like Carrick, and think he does a decent job considering he has to do it by himself. Reading my post back I can see why you wouldn't get the point I was getting at. Apologies!
