My strongest hunch tells me it'll be Hector Herrera in Jan or on deadline day if anything and Fergie's comments were just to throw off the press.
However, I don't think we'll bring anyone else in.

Dave Goddard @davegoddard1971 Being told #mufc spending may not be over. They have two targets. Both midfielders. They hope to sign one. Praying to god this is true, makes sense not pushing for Dembele if indeed we have two targets lined up already. I was certainly entertaining the idea of us signing Dembele but I think a lot of the reports put 2+2=5 after his display against us. Is he credible? If true, I wonder who those two are... Yea, he generally has been, here are his tweets regarding RvP; To be honest he's pretty reliable. He posted this regarding RVP on the 1st August: Have it on good authority that Robin van Persie to #MUFC has moved a step closer. The 5th: I said last week RVP is close. I've heard nothing to make me think different. The 12th: For those asking RVP hasn't signed for MUFC yet but I'm told it is imminent. And finally, the 15th: As I have been saying for quite some time RVP will join MUFC tomorrow. Which he did! Note he is a genuine agent so I have a little more faith in this person than a lot of other people on twitter. No idea who the two people are, I'd guess at Witsel and Cabaye.

Dembele in a good buy for Spurs. I like him and I think he would have been good for utd but I'm not sure he would have had such an incredible 2nd half waltzing thro our midfield if Carrick was stationed there.

Van Der Vaart and Modric out, Dembele and Sigurdsson in. Is that really an improvement? VDV had a lot of injuries but when fit he was a classy player. Dembele and Sigurdsson both very much unproven at a club like Spurs pushing for top 4. Playing well for a mid table side like Fulham or Swansea is one thing, doing it for Spurs is different.

Aye saw that yesterday and that journo had hit the nail on the head with RVP and Buttner transfers. Could maybe be in a better thread for it, but I'll tie it in here. A name thats gone quiet in recent times since being the buzzword of the start of the summer. The general word was Spurs would replace Modric with Moutinho, now they've bought Dembele for a decent chunk, can they still afford a deal for him also?

You don't always need big names to become a better team. We got rid of Van Nistelrooy but were a better team with Saha alongside Rooney. It depends on system. I think Modric is a major loss for them, but I don't think they'll miss VDV as much.

Apparantly we met Fulhams asking price for Dembele - must like being in London. Either that or he figured he would get more gametime at Spurs

So that's one more time we will get to see Dembele boss our Mid at OT Again this season. I hope not.
But Dembele and Sigurdsson are good buys for Spurs.

In hindsight, considering Dembele does the same sort of thing as Yaya Toure, if not to the same level, we probably should have bought him. He isn't world class quality or anything, but at least he gets the ball and runs at teams from the centre of midfield. 18 yard box to 18 yard box.

Thought maybe we should have had a cheeky bid for Sigurdsson. But who's to say Gill didn't try? Maybe he did. Haven't really been paying attention to Dembele, but if what you guys say is true, that he plays in a similar role to Yaya Toure and is making it work... then maybe Fergie should consider grabbing him next season.
