This is how I remember cricket. The crowd loved it, the batsmen never but they just got on with it. Not much protection in them days.
you're not old enough to have watched the bodyline series. In was in 1932.

The mini-series with Hugo Weaving as Jardine was excellent and highly recommended

you're not old enough to have watched the bodyline series. In was in 1932. True. But by watching it was the likes of that. Good old cinema years ago. Even looking at the video you see Viv Richards (Sir now) batting with Dennis Lillee bowling. All Richards had on was a cap.

England at the brink of another World Cup exit. This time before the knockout stages. Tottering at 132/5 in pursuit of 277 against Bangladesh. Its curtains unless Jos Butler and Root do something extraordinary, which isnt impossible though, considering Butler's form. If England lose, Pool A standings remain just a formality.
Irish supporters must be really happy after they have one foot in the knock outs. Glad for Ireland. Really fighting bunch.
India and NZ have maintained their all win record, whereas Australia are scaring the opposition with huge scores. Maxwell is a beast.
Interesting matches coming up which would decide the QF lineups - Ireland vs Pakistan and Bangla vs NZ (if Eng win today)

I saw last night that people were calling for Broad to be dropped when he was being hyped as world class by those same people a year ago

The most scary feeling for a player should be the time when he knows that he is being hyped. Disaster is just a few steps away then.

Ireland have played well so far but I still feel they might miss out because they have to face India and Pakistan where West Indies and South Africa has to face UAE and West Indies have better Net run rate than Ireland.

Agreed. But, Pakistan being Pakistan (read:predictably unpredictable), Irish hopes lie on that tie. I wouldnt count out a tie due to rain That would be enough for the Irish to sail through

Broad is a good test match bowler but he is not really suited to ODI or T20 Ask Yuvraj Singh Not Broad's fault though Flintoff is the culprit

Romanticism says Ireland deserve a QF spot. Any which ways, Pakistan vs Ireland should be the best of the remaining league matches.

The fifty over game is as close as it gets but otherwise it's funfair stuff.
