Gutted for him.
I'm not as optimistic as you Jim, if he does come back, he'll probably be in a situation where he can only player a handful of matches this season. For that reason I think we should move on as a club and replace him as a player. That sounds harsh, but we also have to think of ourselves here. But then we do need to do right by him, and give him the testimonial he deserves and offer him a coaching role.

totally agree with you dan, for me we now have 3 central midfielders, anderson, cleverly who should rotate and carrick who has no one to rotate with. scholes is in there but should be playing when those guys are out of form, need a rest or injured. all this mvilla talk interests me. he has the talent, bad attitude but a few months with fergie and he will be truly humbled. at 8 million this should be an offer we don't pass up. the kid has the enrgy of being box to box, can pass, can sit and read the game, physically very imposing aswell.

Anyone having Darren Fletcher withdraw? Think we are really missing what Fletch offered us when called upon especially in this home stretch.

He could always shit on the ball.
Would be one way of stopping the oppo taking it.
Too soon?

Apparantly Paddy Crerand has said Fletch won't play for United again.

Nightmare. Real nightmare. Gutted for the guy, he always seems like such a decent bloke.
Anyone else remember the story about some guy came over to Fletch in a bar and said,
'Here mate, you're shit.'
Fletch replied, 'I'm shit and playing for Manchester United, how about you?', then bought the entire bar a round, except for the guy. Then he pretended to change his mind and got the guy a pint anyway. Top bloke!

Poor guy if that's true. I knew a girl that happened to and it was really tough for her. Just wish he'd had the chance to play a champions league final.

Yeah. Just went all over google to check for this, haven't seen anything. Would like some actual proof before believing such a shite thing could happen to such a good person.

His condition is incurable, can be hard to control and highly energy draining. I said in another thread that I couldn't see him coming back sadly (although I'd love to be wrong). If the rumour is true let's hope he's well enough to play in a testimonial and hold down a role behind the scenes.
