Hopefully he manages to play every game, would be nice to see him do that every week on MOTD. By the summer, he will end up Captain there. Good luck to him

It's sad to see Fletcher leave but I don't begrudge him a move away because after battling through what he has, you'd just want to play football every week and he's not getting the chance to do that here.
I love Fletcher. But it wasn't always the case. I remember the stick he used to get from fans, both on this forum and inside the stadium. I just didn't see it with him at first. I remember him playing right mid when he first came through, and I'd groan every time I'd see his name on the team sheet.
It was his European performances that changed my opinion of him. Against Roma and Milan etc. He was everywhere. Putting Gattuso on his fucking arse. I think Fletcher became a man after Keane left. He was all of a sudden free to express himself better, he had more responsibility and he relished it. He really grew and there was a period of time (the season of his red card and the season after) where he was dominating big games for a laugh. Because it was in those big games where you'd see the real Darren Fletcher.
I have a lot of great memories of Fletcher. The goal against Chelsea the day Sky had the graphic of Old Trafford cracking in half, the goals against City, that strike against Everton, him audibly calling Gerrard a scouse cunt, his performances against Arsenal. It was heartbreaking to see him sent off in that semi. It was such a footballing injustice and I do believe we'd have had a better chance of beating Barca with him in the team because he was just that good and that important in big games at that time.
I read an interview in the paper once with Fletcher and he said he lives for the games against the likes of Gerrard and Lampard so he can get in their faces and say "how much do you fucking want this?". Fletch always wanted it.

I'd love Fletcher to come back as a youth team coach. There's not a player on Earth who understands the hard work, commitment and dedication to be a United player more than him. Plus, he won't be in senior staff's ear about certain midfielders being shit...

Scotland's football manager Gordon Strachen said this last year about Fletch when he returned from hill illness.
Gordon Strachan has said that he is "delighted" to have Darren Fletcher back in the Scotland squad for tomorrow's international friendly against Poland.
The Manchester United midfielder has not played for his country since November 2012, after being diagnosed with a chronic bowel condition.
The manager told Sky Sports News: "First of all, it's more important for him as an individual. He has had a real tough time. That's the most important thing, that there is a top, top player back playing at the top level.
"He plays for Manchester United and, if you do that, there is an automatic place in my squad. We are just delighted for him just now and we are enjoying watching him coming back and getting back to the player he was."
Fletch need's more playing time and that's why I said before I just hope than he does well, gets a lot of games under his belt on a regular basis and does not suffer any more of that illness or injury. Fletch has football in his blood and he still wants to play for Scotland.

Sad that he never got back to his pre-illness level - still got more medals than Stevie G though Hope he gets a great reception when he comes to play

Bit of a dick move by Pulis on Chris Brunt. Captain of Albion for years now and Fletch is given the armband immediately after he's signed? That's bullshit.

Weird watching Fletch in another shirt. He played OK given how little football this season.
