Breaking Bad is merely ok. Better Call Saul is however, phenomenal. Looks like it's Jimmy over Fred then.

Three episodes in to Dahmer. Creepy as fuck. I remember when the news broke about him, but bloody hell, the guy had some very serious issues going on in his head. Brutal.

Fair enough, looks like I'll be forced to go back and watch BCS!
I watched the first 4/5 episodes, right after Breaking Bad ended, and it just didn't grab me at the time. Have seen many people raving about it, so probably worth a watch.
Sort of like when Parks & Rec replaced the US Office - just not the same show, but ultimatey also has a big following and ended up being great in its own right.

I randomly go back and watch Entourage on HBO, nothing special about the show other than Jeremy Piven's performance as Ari Gold but it was a special time capsule to my teenage/early adult year. Also, seasons 3-6 in Game of Thrones is probably the best stretch in a tv series ever made. Re watching it for millionth time right now and still blown away by just good the writing/acting in that stretch really was. I just finished re-watching breaking bad (my 4th time) with my 19yr old son(first time). It crosses generations as the best series ever, he fucking loved it, and he's never watched anything other than YouTube shit and tiktok How did he keep his attention? I watch a lot of TV and even I found Season 1 very slow, imagine it must have been tough for someone used to TikTok.

But I persevered and he meets a character early into season 2 that just turbocharges it. It flies after season 1, trust me.

Season 4 of Slow Horses tomorrow. If you haven’t watched it yet binge the hell out of it. Outstanding show. Because I watched the first three series over the course of about two days the other month, I didn’t realise it was weekly episodic. Was fucking devastated at the end of the first one that I couldn’t just watch the whole series in one go.

He was also devastated to hear it was weekly this time around!

I prefer weekly episodic in the long run. It means you really digest every episode, I can look on Reddit for theories etc. If a whole season drops at once, I basically forget everything bar the ending within a week.

Think there’s advantages to both. Some things just wouldn’t hold your interest for a full series if aired weekly. American shows run for about three months. In general, the binge format probably suits “documentary” or true crime shows better though. Thinking about the phenomenon of Tiger King, nobody would’ve been interested in that over a three month period. Everyone had nowt else to do and watched it as a oner. With Slow Horses I was more just gutted because I’d got pumped to smash through several of them in one go.
