Genuinely think Blind was the weakest link in our defence this season? Odd.

Genuinely think Blind was the weakest link in our defence this season? Odd. Bar the obvious Rojo? Yes. I don't know how many times he was beaten for strength, height or pace only for De Gea to save him the embarrassment. And there were countless times where he was the player keeping opposition strikers onside when all other moved up. The good thing he has in his favor is knowing how to come out with a ball, and pretty good control and passing. Which are attributes you'd look for in a CM, not CB. We have a good defensive record this season because we kept meaningless possession and De Gea.

While I agree he should never have been a CB, he's far from the weakest link in there. Only Smalling has been better out of the entirety of players that played in defence and that's a close call.

Blind did very well when played out of position all season, and should definitely be commended for that.
But no one wants him there next season.

Nothing wrong with feeling sympathy for a man who is obviously incredibly disappointed to lose his job. Money is pretty meaningless to a guy like him. He is a simple guy and before taking the job had more money than he could possibly spend in several lifetimes. He was sacked by the press for six months. But the club gave him no inkling until the end of the season and clearly led him to believe he had some hope of staying on beyond this season when a deal had been made with Mourinho all along. It would have been more honorable to level with him and give him the support he needed to finish this season.

The payoff from us will just about make up for the 6mill he lost on the Madoff ponzi scheme.

Not been on for a couple of days. Like the rest of you, I'm glad Van Gaals tenure is over. Enough has been said about the football, results, selections and substitutions it's not worth repeating. Away from what unfolded on the pitch too many times, I couldn't help but like the man. Too many images and comments to mention. Some of his pressers and interviews wre entertaining to say the least. That staredown on the interviewer, the wine and the mince pies and the long ball fact sheet for Big Sam, (did anyone notice the womans face as she passed the sheet to a journalist?. Quailty gold). To his dive on the touchline against Arsenal, then the image of him looking all alone in the dugout with his head in his hands, (I can't remember the game, but despite hating the football, I just wanted to put an arm around him), and the fist in Giggsys face. But the one vision I'll always remember was his celebration for Lingards winner in the cup final. Absolute quality. Hated the football. But I can't hate the man.

I think many fans have thought hiring Mourinho would be selling our soul. Recent events have changed a lot of minds.

How have we sold or soul letting a multiple winner take over, if anything we sold our soul when the club let a looser like Moyes take charge and ruin the club

Can't really understand how appointing a new manager equates to selling your soul. A lot of people must really just hate Jose.

I really don't understand what the fuck these ex utd players want. Appoint Giggs? Fuck off. Utd have potentially saved themselves from slipping into mediocrity with the appointment of mourinho. Other than mourinho and possibly Emery, who else is there? Every other top coach was spoken for, and the alternative? keep van gaal another year, then Giggs - nah. Yes, this mourinho play may end up going Tits up, but in the meantime we are guaranteed he will have us challenging for major honours, instead of being a laughing stock.
