He's better than Rooney and RVP - on a par with a fully fit Falcao and obviously Willo is nowhere near his peak so can't be compared yet It seems he is badly in need of a change of scenery and it hasn't helped that Zlatan is playing in his favoured position Like all strikers he needs service and we need to find a way to feed the strikers whoever they are Well that's a lot of auld rubbish. That Cavani was better than an in prime van Persie is dodgy enough. To say Cavani is as good as Falcao, laughable. I meant Cavani is better than RVP now - wouldn't be anywhere near RVP in his prime I just really rate him - I think he'd thrive in English football

Jonas Giæver @chegiaevara 10h10 hours ago Ángel di María just did an interview with "Goles de Europa" on ESPN speaking about his time at Man United and this season:
Di María: "We have gotten to understand the manager more and that is important. Little by little we will understand more."
"We know that Manchester United always have to be at the top."
"Our primary goal is to get back into the Champions League. We're obligated to be in it."
"We are giving everything to return to the Champions League and put Manchester United back where it needs to be; at the top."
"We will continue working and continue fighting. We know that it still is possible."

Despite playing all season in wide positions Di Maria for me is not a proper wide player. For me he's best in between the lines where he can get at a back four with his pace and skill. He's one of the few players we have who has real pace and can actually beat a man. Again like Mata and Januazi, he's a victim of the great in balance in the squad. We have 4 or 5 players who all play in the same positions. For me di maria should be playing more centrally. Considering what we paid for him I am expecting the system to at least compliment him and his game, he's one of our best players but you wouldn't think that.

Could be the case but he is right to some extent, even I had a feeling that he was inconsistent (not as much as like the guy made out) when we bought him but his first few performances convinced me that he is worth that money. It feels like he will perform well when he is focused, someone has to keep him motivated.

Thought he was decent last night until the red mist! And he was starting to pull the strings against Newcastle before he got subbed.
TL;DR: He's getting there.

Decent mobile midfielder, couple strikers making runs/space & a solid defence behind them and we might see the best of him.

When Moyes left for United the toffee supporters said they were glad he was gone and Martinez was the next messiah. Look at Everton now, fighting relegation. I know Moyes was a twat but at least he kept Everton up there fighting for a European place top 4 or 6. I bet the toffee supporters wish he was back there in their little wonderland.

Di Maria is the sort of player that when out of form he's worth carrying. A couple of crosses on the first half, particularly the 'Go on, head me in' for the equaliser are perfect examples.
Issue is if you're to do that you can't play Fellaini and you need a proper right back who can at least cope by himself.

Issue is if you're to do that you can't play Fellaini and you need a proper right back who can at least cope by himself. yup, it's like expecting ronaldo to drop back and cover the full back! you need either a world class RB or to have sufficient defensive midfield cover to accommodate ADM. with regard to his effectiveness going forward, ADM is best suited to a broken game. if you look at real when he was shining they were a counter attacking force. if the game is open he's lethal in the open field. our problems are we're so slow in transition that by the time he gets the ball the opposition is already sitting back and solid in their defensive setup. we give him the ball and expect him to pull something out of his arse. to his credit he tries it. it may appear wasteful but the alternative is sideways/backwards tippy tappy passes (and we all love that, don't we?). by definition the type of player he is means he will frustrate. but when he runs with the ball in the open field against a disjointed defence, he's one of the most dangerous attackers in the game. he is best suited to a high pressing midfield 3. he's quick enough to swarm other midfielders with help and turn it into a counter attack. he doesn't suit the more measured approach.
