Can I vote Ryan Shawcross twice? We need someone to lift that defence and he's a good player and let's keep it real!

Mine? Howedes Shawcross and Garay in that order.. Shawcross in theory should slot in seamlessly with little to no bedding time. Not experienced in Europe? I guess. My concern with Garay is how much adapting time from a shitty league. Agreed.Howedes is the best of the 3 and younger than Garay.. Making the step up from Bundesliga to PL should be fairly straight forward. He's German, we don't buy Germans. Genuinely don't think we have a clue who we're going after, though I'm confident it'll be a central defender.

I don't know where the idea that Varane is up for sale comes from and, even then, do Chelsea really need more top central defenders? Laporte if we're going down the expensive-youngster-potentially-world-class route. I'd agree with the idea of getting Laporte and Rudiger, too. Flog Evans and Smalling, keep Jones (CB, CDM, RB), Rojo (CB & LB) Blackett (CB) and McNair (CB) and we're sorted. Terry is past it, Cahill 29 in Dec and Zouma is raw. Varane could be the best CB of his generation + Jose loves defenders. I'd get the experienced CB in Jan and the prospect in the summer. We have had enough of this versatility excuse. Sign a proper RB and CDM and evaluate Jones only as CB. Can't believe it's come to this but Evans has until end of season. CB, CB, McNair, Rojo, Blackett is my pick..

His blood and thunder style might not be viewed too kindly in Europe maybe. Agree that we could all be surprised come Jan. So long as a CB is signed who fixes our issues at the back..

TBH I would rather buy a defender that has Premier experience like Shawcross or Vlaar - we need someone to come in and settle straight away - we saw how long it took world class defenders like Vida and Pat to really find their feet Right back has been a problem for a few years since Nev retired - Rafa is good but he needs to get his fitness sorted and also needs someone to compete for the place - we can't survive with a centre half filling in and Valencia is certainly not up to it - someone like Clyne would be ideal We need a world class striker too - hoping Falcao can be the man but has yet to prove his fitness - RVP is finished both physically and mentally , PHC is not good enough and Willo is still very inexperienced but will make it IMO - would love to see Chico come back but we'd need to play a system with two frontmen because he needs a partner to play off I voted for Strootman purely because he is top class, LVG loves him and we could get 10 years out of him but IMO central midfield is pretty much sorted Not too worried about wingers because I'd like us to play a 4-3-3, 4-1-3-2, 4-3-1-2 or a narrow diamond as we have most of the players to do that I suppose we'll find out in the next 6-10 weeks

THIS has always confused me - the Bundesliga is probably the closest to the Premier in tempo and style out of all the European leagues so why the hell have we never had a German play for the first team?? We did have Marcus Neumayer (sp?) a few years ago and I think the closest he ever got was an unused sub and he hasn't set the world alight since he left so 99% certain he wasn't good enough We know how good Germans are and have done since the 60s - what could we have achieved with a Beckenbaur, Hoeness or a Muller? (any Muller )

Markus Neumayr? Vaguely remember him.. But Ron Rob Zieler was on the bench for a league cup game iirc? On the cusp of senior team but for an arm collision, he could have been atleast a No 2 I reckon.

I have voted for Strootman. How ironic that after all the clamour for Vidal in summer no one's voted for him. I know I know the whole situation, just pointing out the irony.

Who would be the best "getable" RB currently? I think CB is sorted for a bit and all of the underperforming Senior CBs will stay.
RB is more important at the moment as Valencia has shown an alarming lack of positioning.
The CM seems sorted with Carrick, Blind, Herrera, and Fellaini vying for 2 spots.
CF is solid. Would prefer Falcao but he is crocked and not Dutch. Van Persie plays every single minute until Falcao is back 100% healthy.
So there it is. A RB to compete with Rafael and United should kick on to 2nd.

I somewhat surprised (and a little disappointed) that everybody has McNair as a future CB, but our boy Tyler has not been mentioned. did he piss on an sovereign nation's flag, or insult their veterans or something? where has all the Blackett love gone people? not saying that McNair isn't a good prospect at CB, but i think Blackett had done as good a job when he was given his chance.

I prefer Blackett to Mcnair. If they both improve then we are dancing!
