it's mentioned in the falcao (oh lo lo) thread that if that move doesn't work out, we should look for a top striker.
who's available?
i dont really rate cavani. benzema is kind of growing on me and can do the selfless CF work, but he can be very wasteful. atletico have a history of selling their CF's but griezmann doesn't strike me as the CF we would look for. reus could possibly adapt to the CF position (similar to ronnie) but he's so deadly in a wide or central creative role that you'd miss that.
anyone else?

I have voted for Strootman. How ironic that after all the clamour for Vidal in summer no one's voted for him. I know I know the whole situation, just pointing out the irony. dem Knees doe, bruh! i dont think he'd last 5 games if they are as bad as Juve say they are. that and i think there are a many few jaded with the extended cat and mouse game we were forced to witness the past summer. Kinda like with Cesc, i dont remember many saying they wanted him last summer, considering what went on the summer before. |

I somewhat surprised (and a little disappointed) that everybody has McNair as a future CB, but our boy Tyler has not been mentioned. did he piss on an sovereign nation's flag, or insult their veterans or something? where has all the Blackett love gone people?  not saying that McNair isn't a good prospect at CB, but i think Blackett had done as good a job when he was given his chance. prefer McNair. Blackett has always looked like he has a mistake in him. |

I'd like to see us go after Howedes. Excellent centre back, probably a better right back than Valencia, Smalling, or Jones, and can also cover at left back and defensive mid if needed. I've also read that he has a 14m buy out clause, which I doubt to be true, but if it is we should be snatching Schalke's hand off. Howedes is a better right back than Valencia, Smalling, and Jones all three combined. |
