What a clusterfuck.
Sad world we live in, man innocent of rape (but a giant douche nonetheless) goes to prison for it thanks to a woman who cried wolf (?) and media incited jingoistic frenzy . Meanwhile actual rapists, murderers and tax dodgers go scot free.

Lesson to be learned: maybe one-offs or one-night-stands are not a good idea. Also, if the girl had been drinking *at all* maybe just get her number.

Ched Evans has had his rape conviction quashed today in court, meaning, he is now considered innocent. The idea that a complainant's sexual history can be admitted as evidence in a rape case is troubling, to say the least. I believe it's not allowed in US courts. Evans is probably just another player who is dumber than a bag of hammers. At his initial police interview... 'When he was interviewed by police Evans boasted that he and McDonald could have had any woman they wanted in the club that night. “Footballers are rich and they have money,” he said. “That is what girls like.” ' They are rich and have money both. Good point. I find it reprehensible that her sexual history was brought up and then allowed by a judge in this case. And it seems that the crux of this was the language she used allegedly (and one of these witnesses apparently was very sketchy in his wording) was the most non-specific, general phrasing a person uses in sex all the time. Slut-shaming, the oldest trick in the book in rape cases.

Also, there'/s no evidence at all that she lied or knew what she was doing by going to court, so let's park that shit from now on in any discussion please.
As some others have mentioned, if a person claims he or she has been raped (which has the lowest rate of reported crime I think) and then loses the case, it doesn't automatically mean they lied, rather that proof wasn't established as it can be incredibly difficult to do so, as is proven by the extremely low conviction rate. I speak from 2nd/3rd hand experience. I know someone who was falsely convicted (imo) and someone else whose sister was raped but they couldn't prove it. She committed suicide not long after.

Some serious compensation due here mate. I doubted his guilt from minute one. Jess Ennis and Charlie Webster turn my stomach with their public witch hunt in trying to destroy an innocent man. I fucking hope they are held to account by the media. Same as mate. The lad served 3 years and was wrongfully treated by a lot of people. Most of which won't have the balls to apologise. I always doubted the verdict because of the lack of evidence and how sketchy it all was. Whether she lied or not she knowingly knew what she was doing. Hope he gets all the compo he deserves. Sad that one party gets protected and an innocent one gets dragged through the shit. Whether he's allowed to get on with his life in peace of not the damage is done, the label will never completely disappear. Should never have been convicted in the first place. The only thing he's guilty of is doing the dirty on his missus, so at best he's an idiot. Glad the lad got the verdict he should have got in the first place though. Precisely. But the politically correct brigade deem him guilty as a result. Last night I trawled through twitter to see public reaction on this and was genuinely astonished to see a lot of feminists still harbouring him guilty of something in a court of law. People seriously getting confused with moral right and legal right.
Just to add thank fuck we are all not held accountable by a moral court because if we were there is not a human being alive that is not guilty of something. The public witch hunt by certain celebrities has really disgusted me from the start and now just silence from them. They are disgusting.
Also I have 2 sons and 1 daughter who I have to rear into adulthood. I am not looking at this from a male or female perspective. I was just troubled with the facts in this case from the very start.

^^If you trawled through Twitter yesterday you must have read the thousands of tweets slamming this girl, calling her a liar, a slut and demanding to go to jail. How did you feel about that can I ask?

Btw, this is what happened initially:
'In the Ched Evans case, the 19-year-old victim did not go to the police to report that she had been raped. She made no complaint whatsoever. She had no memory of being raped. She called the police to report a missing handbag. It was the police who suggested that she might have a case for rape against two well-known footballers.'

How did you feel about that can I ask? I don't agree with any of that. But people blatantly ignoring the possibility that the girl could have been looking for a payout are frankly naïve. I don't know if she was or was not. But a threesome rape where 1 man is a rapist and the other is not is quite frankly fairy tale. Drunken consent is consent. The public with hunt as I said before against Evans has astonished me. Here is Charlie Websters latest tweet:
==================================================================== Charlie Webster @charliecw · 16 hours ago
I stand by that belief. It appears we need to start having proper conversations about what consent really is. 2/3
======================================================================
Now if the law were to reflect this then a man is risking everything by having sex with a woman who has taken alcohol. Is this where society is going?
I deplore sex crimes as the lowest of the low. But this case had too many questions from the start that a guilty conviction was unsafe.

The girl has been the victim of a witch hunt too. One of Evan's supporters named her. She's moved house 5 times And changed her name due to the abuse she's received.

Agree. it is this tit for tat bollocks that is all that is wrong in society. The girl should not have been subjected to this. The same way celebrities being public judge and jury figures distorting public perception of legal processes is disgusting. No winners here. But personally Jess Ennis and Charlie Webster with their perfect moral compass should at least now make further public statements on a case they were once very very interested in.

Btw, where's the evidence she was looking for a payout? Apparently an early tweet saying she was gonna win big and buy a Porsche or something.

Rape is rape. He shows absolutely no remorse. Unlike so many bullshit claims against footballers/celebrities, this guy was convicted in a Court of Law. The 'time' he served was a joke anyway. Getting paid to play football is a privilege, a gift. You rape someone, you forfeit that privilege. Perfectly decent people break legs at 20 and never go on to have the career they should have. Ched Evans can fuck off from the public eye and go work in a second hand haulage shop or something. EDIT: Yeah, I'm not big on the 'Rehabilition' aspect of our criminal justice system. Works for some crimes, but certain things in my book are unforgivable and irredeemable. Have you studied the case? The girl had made several claims before and tweeted about how happy she was to be getting a pay day out of it. There was nothing violent about the crime. She went to his hotel room voluntarily and then woke up and said she didn't remember anything. No drugs were found in her system and no alcohol either. New video evidence shows she didn't even look intoxicated when entering the hotel room. If he loses his appeal then he's made a disgusting mistake but not something he can't come back from. Brendan Rodgers son imo did the exact same thing. Better Lawyers equals not guilty and allowed to keep playing football. Just saw this from earlier. Again, I can find no evidence that the girl made several claims before and as I said, no reporting of her tweeting is anywhere. Do you remember where you came across this stuff?
