If you count Herrera as a signing from last year (which he should have been) Blind has been our best signing, in my opinion at least.

People have said about his lack of pace but his reading of the game makes up for that...great again yesterday.

People have said about his lack of pace but his reading of the game makes up for that... great again yesterday. I've seen a few people rating his performance yesterday; someone even asked why I disagreed in the match thread but it was so many pages ago now I didn't get the chance to explain. Basically, I thought he was more wasteful with the ball than he has been all season - he gave the ball away a lot both in our own and the Scouser's half. He was the one who got into the mess that ended up with Jonesy getting booked for example. Positionally he got into bother with Sterling/others a number of times as well but it went a bit unnoticed because our shape was so good nothing came from it. He was decent coming forward though, occasionally (the peno was a good bit of work, and the trick to make Can fall over was brilliant). I have been a big supporter of Blind so maybe I'm just being hyper critical. Certainly think it wasn't anywhere close to his usual standards for us. Call it a four when I expected at least a six or seven.

Having said that though he was good going forward and pool didn't get much joy down the right.

I cannot see how Blind was anything but very good yesterday. He reminds me of Paul Mcgrath where he is in the right place at the right time and pace will never out do his brilliant football brain. People are isolating the iinstance where he was caught once on the inside but his football intelligence is a joy to behold.Just my opinion of course.

Big fan of Blind, apart from the (very) occasional mistake his reading of the game, and positional play are top drawer. Like him better where LvG plays him too,as per the Dutch national side allowing both Ander AND Mata to play, seems someone from the club actually reads our posts pleading incessantly for this! Long may this continue. 2nd spot for us if we keep this up.

05/05/2015 08:31, Report by Mark Froggatt Blind rates Goal of the Season nominees
Daley Blind has humbly played down his chances of winning Manchester United’s Goal of the Season award by describing Angel Di Maria, Juan Mata and Wayne Rooney as favourites for the prize.
Fans can vote for one of 10 first-team goals from a shortlist that will be whittled down to the top three contenders ahead of the club’s awards ceremony on 19 May.
Blind’s dramatic equaliser at West Ham is among the nominations, though the Dutchman faces stiff competition from Di Maria’s lofted finish at Leicester City, Mata’s exquisite volley against Liverpool at Anfield and Rooney’s acrobatic finish against Aston Villa.
“I think the goal from Angel [Di Maria] against Leicester was very nice,” Daley told United Review. “But also the goal from Juan [Mata] against Liverpool was great – there was so much pressure in the game and he scored like that, it was unbelievable. Also, the week after that, Wayne [Rooney] scored an amazing goal against Aston Villa, so I don’t think I have much of a chance! But you never know – I’ll keep my fingers crossed."
As for the Players’ Player of the Year award, Blind is keeping his cards close to his chest but accepts there are a handful of outstanding candidates who could easily win.
“There have been a lot of good players this season. I think David [De Gea] has played a really good season, everybody knows that. Wayne has been very important to the team and he always scores important goals. Juan has been very important as well, so it could be very close. We will have to wait and see.”
