Blind seems to save his goals for when they are desperately needed. His two last season were late equalizers, and then to put us ahead against Liverpool when that game was crying out for a goal. I've definitely had my doubts about him a CB, but he continues to impress. You make a great point, a balanced squad need super stars sprinkled in with solid footballers, and Blind fits that solid category. Guys like Blind-Morgan-Darmian and others, wrapped around players like Martial-Memphis-Mata-Herrera-Bastian-DDG, is what makes up a winning squad.... As Nevs said in his podcast, the kid is a great footballer. No championship club wins trophies without players like Blind. It might take a bit of time, but I've no doubt that the fans that support United will take him to heart and make sure he gets the appreciation that he needs. I sure as hell hope he retires wearing United kit.

15/11/2015 11:27, Report by Gemma Thompson. Video: Matty Singh RED ON RED: DALEY BLIND ON RUUD VAN NISTELROOY Daley Blind watched in admiration as a young boy as Ruud van Nistelrooy fired goal after goal for Manchester United, and the Dutch defender now has the pleasure of working with the Reds' legendary goalscorer at international level...
"Ruud was a killer striker in the box! Every chance was a goal. He was quick as a player and always had a feeling for a good position as a striker. If you knew you had him in your team, you were very happy because he scored in most games. That was his big quality – he could score goals and create chances for himself out of nothing. "The amount of goals he scored in his career, particularly for United, makes him a legend. He was very important for the team and he helped United win some titles as well. You're always proud if a fellow countryman does something well at a big club like United. You look up to players like him. "Scoring is the most important thing for a striker and that's why he will be remembered. One goal I always think of when people are talking about Ruud is the solo one from midfield [against Fulham in March 2003] that he scored. That was a fantastic goal. "I first met Ruud when he became the assistant manager for the Dutch team and he's a really great person. Before that I only knew him from watching him in the past at the big clubs he played at, including, of course, United. I have some great images in my mind of him as a player and then I got to know him as a person. He's a great personality and I think I can learn a lot from him at international level. It's funny now when we do some finishing exercises with the national team because you still see that he gets the ball, takes a shot and it's in. It's very impressive." www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features/Features/2015/Nov/video-Red-on-Red-Daley-Blind-on-Ruud-van-Nistelrooy.aspx

One of my favourite players He's 50 times better than a lot of people think...Fixed I've liked his play since the day he arrived, he is totally unselfish, his football IQ is Mensa, and he is 100% about the club, ready to do the dirty work. (loved his last goal ) Outstanding player for the club, and the kind of player that any trophy winning club needs to have

I don't get all the hate for Daley Blind, I was delighted when we signed him and there's rarely a match that goes by when I don't look at him and think that technically, he's one of the most gifted players I've ever saw. Ok he lacks pace but on the whole I think he's been solid this season and his magic left foot is a weapon to behold.

These rumours I hear on Sky make no sense. Anyone can tell he is not a centre back but if you play him in front of a back four your going to get a lot more from him. He's a very solid footballer, good passer of the ball, doesn't shit himself when he's put under pressure and he's intelligent. He's tailor made to play that defensive role in midfield. Most of the bad games he had last season where at centre back and mainly because he was physically dominated. It would be a pretty bad move to get rid of him. If he goes on the transfer market, I'm pretty sure clubs like Barcelona and Madrid would be interested.
