Thought Smalling has been on another level since his red card at City. Probably our best outfield player. Yes. Who the hell would have thunk it. Not me I must say . Proven mighty wrong about him too. And about Di Maria. So disappointed with him leaving and not working out with us. I also thought Van Persie would play Renaissance man and have a blistering rejuvenation to his United career post the Moyes hell . But stunned at what happened to him too. He was LVG's go to guy.

Everyone gets a pass on Di Maria.

Its Evans, Evans and Evans for me.
He never won over me for years and I was happy that I was right, until his proved me wrong with couple of impressive seasons. Just when I thought he would be the rock in our defence after the departures of Vida & Rio, he proved me wrong again. Guess he takes joy in letting me down.

Thought Smalling has been on another level since his red card at City. Probably our best outfield player. It wasn't after city, it was one moment deep in the second half against Preston in the Cup. The long ball came hoofed forwards, Davies went up, Smalling came towering out from the line of defence and beat him to the ball, heading it from halfway inside our half virtually back into the Preston keeper's face.* Finally, Mike had convinced his twin brother to let him play instead. *Possible hyperbole employed

Wrong- Falcaow Right - Moyhes & to a lesser extent Fuhlarmi and Vuhlencia Take the gloating to the I told you so thread Out of curiosity, why do you replace a vowel with u for players you don't like?

I wanted a British manager to continue the tradition, and Moyes was one of the names I suggested as a possible choice. When it actually came to his appointment I wasn't exactly over-joyed though.
That wasn't so hilarious come to think of it ...

Fallcao/Failcao definitely.. Too early to definitively say Pedro and Otamendi although I hope to come back here and confirm very soon!! Evans - Prototypical LVG ball playing CB and expected him to be center piece of defence Nick Powell - Convinced he was the real deal.

Ed Woodward - During Moyes's tenure I thought he is hopeless but he proved me wrong.
Latest is Martial, thought he was a panic buy and too much money for a 19 year old.
Happy that I was wrong on both occasions.

i really don't understand why anyone would write off a player that they've never seen (regardless of the fee) ??
being wrong about a player you saw reaching the top is different. some of the initial predictions about martial (not here, from pundits and so-called experts) were astonishing. just looking at him, the kid has all the physical attributes you could ask for, and at 19 he's pretty much a blank canvas.
seeing his full debut for france v denmark he was absolutely brilliant. and i've never seen anybody breeze by seamus coleman so easily, repeatedly. were i LVG, id rotate him/memphis in the LW position, keep rooney (if we must) up front and keep ander @ #10. the final third was better by leaps and bounds v everton.

It isn't really a fair question as we have all seen him playing for us over the last ten or so years.

I'm going to mention Wilf Zaha . Honestly thought we were on to a good prospect there.
