I know we're a football forum, but has anyone seen the news coming out of Paris tonight?
Over 60 dead apparently in what is described as multiple terrorist attacks.
What the fuck is up with our world?
Thoughts are with the families of the dead and wounded.

I'm fucking gobsmacked. Fucking cowardly wankers. I love concerts, music is one of the most important things in my life. So to attack like minded people just astounds me. I'm sick and tired of innocent people losing their lives through other people's misgivings. I hope and pray the people who are being held are released asap. Thoughts go out to the poor folks who have lost friends and family tonight.

I'm in fucking shock. They have turned the Bataclan into a slaughterhouse killing one by one. The tweets and Facebook posts are incredibly heartbreaking.
Edit: the police already entered there, the images are horrible. Several points of the city were attacked as well.

They weren't hostages they were just getting fired at. Over 100 dead from the concert. No news from the band. I'm trying act cheerful at a Christmas pagaent here while me wife just keeps telling me to ignore it. Shocking stuff |

Michael Dorio, brother of Eagles of Death Metal's touring drummer Julian Dorio, called in to CNN on Friday night to relay the information his brother told him regarding the terrorist shooting at the band's Le Bataclan concert that claimed 118 lives on Nov. 13. "He called and told me everything was okay and that he had been performing and heard the gunshots. The whole band heard the gunshots and went backstage and exited as fast as they could. "He said they did see gunmen but didn’t stick around. They saw first, heard second and immediately bolted backward to the backstage area," Dorio told CNN. After heading backstage, the band immediately left Le Bataclan. They later provided an update on their Facebook page: “We are still currently trying to determine the safety and whereabouts of all our band and crew. Our thoughts are with all of the people involved in this tragic situation.” After police raided Le Bataclan, at least 118 people were killed at the 1500-capacity venue, which was full at the time of the incident. Fucking awful scene of events, up to 120 dead now. What an evil and horrid world we live in. Europe needs to fucking wake up. They need to take a few lessons from the Aussies and maybe shit like this wouldn't happen. The religion of peace strikes again. Ban all religion, ban the fucking lot, because no matter what, it causes more harm and suffering than it ever resolves.
Likes of Cameron and Obama crack open their "tragedy speeches" and talk the talk as per fucking usual instead of having the grapefruits to actually take action and do something about it all. Fucking gobshites, a big reason why I hate politics. bunch of arseholes in suits that in the end actually end up doing fuck all.
Instead of focusing on sorting the issues out they're too busy making these evil bastards into martyrs by giving them fucking nicknames like "Jihadi John". Shoot the bastards then forget about them.
R.I.P to the poor souls lost in the tragedy and thoughts are with their families and all those that were involved. #Pray4Paris

There's a chilling video on the internet where the football is going on inside the stadium and there's a huge noise (the first blast) and the players just keep playing. I mean obviously they wouldn't even dream that this would happen so they don't know. But still , quite chilling to see them oblivious to the madness happening just near them .
The strange one for me is this, the German squad was evacuated the day before under bomb threats . That means there was actionable Intel. How did they not get to know about the terror that would have unfolded just half a day later. Which leads me to the scary conclusion that the bomb threat was a planned diversion to keep all eyes and ears turned away from the real horror about to be unleashed. The fact that humans go to such lengths to plan and kill other human beings over which artificial god is righteous is ghastly. Its exactly why I've turned nearly atheist over the past decade. I'm completely agnostic, but I used to believe in a higher spiritual entity.
Now I think to myself sometimes, fuck that , ain't nothing spiritual that would allow this massacre to continue over centuries .

It seems the football was the big target that went wrong but maybe you're right. Could be a diversion. A bomb in the stadium on live TV would have caused massive panic though. A reddit user actually warned of terrorist attacks in Paris on this day last year and recently bumped the thread. Someone in the know. |

It's easy for me to say, and it may not solve everything (or anything) but surely the time for Airstrikes are over. IS, the actual state, the geographical area, needs to be wiped off the face of the earth. Obama was told to do this ages ago but wouldn't put troops in there. They have to now.

Just listening to the news now. My and my wife's thoughts go out too all the families that lost loved ones. Things like this sends chills up the back of my spine as being ex army and doing tours of duty brings back all the bad things I have seen and will not print in here. Terrorists are the scum of the earth but we should never give in too them. Its down too all the overpaid politicians, instead of pumping their gums and saying what should be done they should all pull their fingers out of the back of their arses and do something. At the end of the day when they heard and seen this on the news they jumped into their chauffeur driven cars and were driven home too their 1 mill + mansions, sat down watching tv with a glass of wine in their hands muttering "Oh dear me....this should never happen". Nuff said from me.

It's easy for me to say, and it may not solve everything (or anything) but surely the time for Airstrikes are over. IS, the actual state, the geographical area, needs to be wiped off the face of the earth. Obama was told to do this ages ago but wouldn't put troops in there. They have to now. Except this is not confined to a geographical area Stew. Paris has proved that. Wiping out an area will not do anything except exacerbate the situation. |
