Can anyone explain the difference between a cult and religion. I think society is too tolerable to religious teaching. Not 1 shred of evidence can back anybody's idea of god. Nothing. Yet the world is destroyed by the pursuit of this notion. In simple terms. Extreme muslims views are at odds with western culture. They just don't want to live like us.

I'm all for helping people in need but we don't know who these people are. Oh they have a passport? Oh great that will be enough as they can't be forged so your safe. Please enter our country as we know who you are now. Utter bullshit. I'm sorry Paul but you don't get to pick and choose the consequences of sticking your nose in. The West has interfered in the Middle East for as long as any of us remember and we all know why. ISIS and their 'kingdom' was only possible by the desire to overthrow Assad and Bush's illegal invasion of Iraq which completely destabilised the area. You cannot act like this and then turn your back on the people that are suffering hugely due to your actions. The vast majority of terrorist attacks in recent years have been carried out by nationals of that country. Disenchanted, unemployed youths who are easy targets for extremists. Closing borders won't stop that and will doom countless thousands to their death. Is that how the West should behave, seeing as how it likes to view itself? The far right today are making great play out of this attack and immigration. I find one of the better rules in life is that whatever the European far right think, think the fucking opposite. I agree with you, the point I was trying to make was as much as these people need help we can't be 100% sure that ISIS are not filtering themselves within these people. Not saying to not help them but there needs to be a tighter process of letting them through so we know that its not being used as a smoke screen to smuggle these bastards in. I'm well aware that Bush (with the aid of Blair sniffing his arsehole) stuck their noses in over there and consequences were going to follow. End of the say you shit in somebody's back yard then they will retaliate. I'm all too aware that the west is not at all innocent in all of this. Problem is Paul, if we value a society in which free speech is an inherent right, then people calling for Sharia law are perfectly entitled to their opinion. They won't ever get it, but they can want it. I want a secular society, more in tune with France, but I doubt I'll ever get it.

For the morons who wish to have the antiquated and regressive system known as 'Shariah Law' implemented, they can go to Saudi Arabia and live there. It is easy to vocalise such an opinion from the comfort of an arm chair which enjoys the rights and freedoms that are so lacking in a country which is drowning in the corrupt stench of petrodollars. I am telling you they would not last a second.
Just for the record, the term 'Shariah Law' is a media construct that, when envoked, is designed to bring to mind summary beheadings, hands being chopped off for stealing and induce a kind of moral panic. Saudi is no Muslim country I recognise, Sharia literally translates as 'ethics' and really, religion is a matter of my mainly private and sometimes public (i.e. when I go to mosque) religious identity. I have ZERO right to impose my views on anyone and the freedom I enjoy to practise these values makes me proud be a subject of this country. We can't stop moronic idiots from talking about the 'Shariah Law' they think they want in their demented, morally bankrupt minds unless they carry a real and present threat, otherwise we risk mirroring the very values we should oppose.
