For all your Asian (and oceania because New Zealand can't be bothered to apply for an AFC license, lazy sheep shaggers) footballing needs
to start off with groups for the next round of Asian WCQ's are as follows:
Group A: Iran South Korea Uzbekistan China Qatar Syria
Group B: Australia Japan Saudi Arabia UAE Iraq Thailand
Top two i believe go through, the two third place teams have a playoff against each other, winner faces some other fringe qualifier from the other confederation for the final World cup spot
Both groups look pretty hard, was hoping for China and Qatar but that was pretty much as good as good as it gets for Australia otherwise. Japan better find some form or else they're in trouble (especially with the middle eastern trips) and the middle eastern teams in both groups (but especially group B) will have to find some away form or else they won't pick up a point.

Japan have been pretty bad to be honest, they did finish 1st in their group but didn't finish all that far ahead of Syria (i know after the 7th game they where a point ahead of them). I have no idea since the world cup they haven't been themselves, which is crazy because they finally got themselves 2 good strikers that are playing in decent European clubs with Okazaki and Muto. I know Honda has fallen away a bit but Kagawa seems to be going well at Dortmund, with the talent they have, their is no way they shouldn't be doing better than they have been

Oh yeah Japan and Australia will be 1 and 2 (in whichever order, think this is dependent on the results of the two games in Australia and Japan) the Aussie team is pretty good nowadays actually (nowhere near the golden generation of course) and Ange is the best manager we've had since Guus. We have a lot of domestic based players who are playing well for the national team (the likes of Aaron Mooy, who has been linked to Schalke, Watford and a whole lot of european clubs, he'll definitely leave for europe at the end of the season and go to a pretty good club). In saying that their is only a few players in europe now, Mat Ryan at Valencia (who should be starting keeper over Alves), Robbie Kruse at Leverkusen (who can't catch a break in terms of injuries), Tom Rogic at Celtic, Brad Smith at Liverpool and some others in lower divisions (Mass Luongo for QPR, Bailey Wright at Preston) Our midfield right now is deadly. Aaron Mooy, Mass Luongo and Tom Rogic are probably the three best outfielders in the squad right now along with Cahill. Kruse when he is healthy is amazing. The only worry is that our players leave for China like Trent Sainsbury and aren't facing the best competition week in, week out, also our CB stock isn't exactly great right now. But we do have some youngsters in academies in europe and some other great young players coming through who will give the current starters a run for their money, provided they actually declare for us (Rene Pipisco could be a long term striker for us, which we need, Ikon is on loan at a Serie B side and did play for Lazio, Daniel De Silva at Roma and then theirs youngsters at Watford and some other clubs) so if they come through i think we would be set

The FFA, in their infinite wisdom decided it would be a great idea to award the Premiers Plate (the trophy you get for winning the league) to Adelaide in front of exactly 0 fans, at a closed stadium, at lunch time.
Have they lost their minds, this is the first time they've won the plate since 08 i think, why not have a big thing in the city center at the end of the finals series (you know, in front of fans, parade and all that like every other team gets), i mean they could have waited a few days and awarded it even in front of all the fans at hindmarsh on the weekend when they face city, it ain't hard
Luckily De Bohun is going at the end of the season because he has NFI

We are constantly ignored. The only Aus games we get are at Adelaide fucking oval against can'tfuckingpronounceistan. We're as big as Perth or Brisbane but sometimes you'd think Melbourne and Sydney are the only two cities in the country.

Would be nice if Hindmarsh was upgraded to about 25-30k so internationals could be at a real football ground and not an oval

Socceroo Williams comes home to Glory as Warren signs on for another year
The recruitment drive for Perth Glory’s Hyundai A-League 2016/17 campaign has begun in earnest, with Perth born Socceroo Rhys Williams penning a one year deal with his home town club.
After plying his trade in England with Championship outfit Middlesbrough since 2005, the 27-year old defensive-midfielder is returning to Perth on the back of a resurgent season for the WA club.
Having played 14 matches for the green and gold, including caps against France, Serbia and Japan, Williams was also part of the provisional 2010 World Cup in South Africa until he was hampered by injury.
He still remains under the close watch of Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou in Australia’s World Cup plans for Russia in 2018.
“I’m very excited to come home to Perth and join Kenny Lowe whom I’ve known for many years. He's been a mentor to me since I was a teenager” Williams said.
“After 11 years in the UK, the opportunity to re-unite with my family and re-join a manager who believes in me and my football is the tonic I need for my career”.
“I know a lot of the boys at the club since our ECU Joondalup days and I really can’t wait until the pre-season starts. I think Perth Glory fans can look forward to an exciting year ahead with so many WA boys in the line-up” he added.
Williams will also join his younger brother Aryn, who is contracted at the club for next season.
“That’s the bonus for me. I’m not only coming home to re-join my family but Aryn will be there by my side on the training track, day-in day-out. I think that will benefit us both and can only bode well for the rest of the team” he said.
Glory coach Kenny Lowe said the signature of Williams was important for the team going forward.
“We know what Rhys can do. He’s been captain of Middlesbrough; he’s played for the Socceroos and has the qualities and attributes we want as a player and as a person. They’re all elements which tie in with our current recruitment philosophy.
It’s exciting for him, exciting for us and I think it’s exciting for the fans and members as well” he said.
Williams will be at least the tenth WA born or raised player contracted at the club leading into next season.
He's expected to join his new Perth Glory teammates in July for the start of pre-season.
Meanwhile, the club can also confirm it has re-signed left-back Marc Warren for another year on the back of an impressive season for the 24-year old.
“Marc has stepped up to the plate when he needed to and has done a lot of work on himself to get to this position. We’re happy with his progress and he’s been rewarded for his efforts” Lowe said.
Rhys Williams to Perth.
Williams and Lowry as the starting CB's. I think now they're pushing the cap, though if Risdon goes to Europe like most expect, that will bring their salary down, anyway already perth look like the team to beat next season, that lineup is ridiculous
