More of this fight please. That's probably the best part of it. The mentality that seemed to have left with Fergie. Let's see if Palace put in that level of performance against Chelsea, I doubt it somehow. Didn't they just lose to a late goal against Spurs? They are professionals fighting for their Premier League careers. Why on earth would you expect them to give any less than 100%? I'm not a huge fan of the myth that teams try harder against us and not just raise their games against any other top 6 side. Unfortunately, they often look better against us because of our average performances.

Very lucky to come away with the three points but a wins a win and that should more or less secure top 4.
Pogba was diabolical again, marginally better in the second half, but still very poor for a player of his standard. I'm not buying into it being because of Sanchez either - that doesn't cause him to get caught dwindling on the ball, misplace numerous passes, try and do a bit of fancy skill every fucking time, or wave his arms around like a little kid. I think the penny will eventually drop, I really don't know if Mourinho is the one to make that happen though.
McTominay not great and in all honesty, I'm not convinced by him yet. This isn't based on yesterday alone either, since his run in the team I've not really seen anything to suggest he can be a long term starter for us. Still, he has time on his side and could still develop into a good squad player.
Jury very much still out on Lindelof - he's showing glimpses of quality, but it's not good when whenever a ball goes near him I'm expecting a fuck up. Lets hope Bailly is ready for the weekend.
Didn't think either full back was great last night. Valencia was caught out of position numerous times and for Young to keep on starting, Shaw really must be fucking up in training.
That was like the Sanchez from Arsenal in recent times last night - trying to win the whole game on his own. It's no wonder he gave the ball away so often when he's too deep and then trying to play 1-2's from 20+ yards. Needs to stay outwide more if he's playing on the left, or further up field if behind Lukaku.
Whilst I'm still not Lukaku's biggest fan, I think he's been steadily improving recently. His hold up play is becoming a lot better and that's two big goals in successive games now. I think we'll see a more consistent, all round player next season.
Lastly, Mourinho deserves plenty of credit. Mata made a big difference and I actually think Lingard did well on the right as well.
Fuck knows who'll play on Saturday, but hopefully this will give us some momentum to put in a performance.

It's usually rubbish and even when it's true we should take it as a compliment, and then smash them anyway. It's not an excuse whatsoever and it screams small time when people say it IMO.

Let's not pretend teams dont often raise their game against us. That hasn't stopped since Fergie left. Just because we were poor doesn't negate that. What have Newcastle done since they beat us?

Long story short... I arrived in Abu Dhabi a couple of hours ago... Got to the hotel and two things are o with the obvious...there is a twat of an arab (no racialism) who is talking interminably with the guy on reception...the bar (tv) is closed...I know that the hotel across the road will be showing the match... so I leave my stuff and walk to the other hotel...we are 1-0 down as I walk in and as I get my beer and 2-0 down before I sit down...shit... A 'lady' at the bar with a 'client' empathises with me but I say - not a problem, time for the big come back - and then it happens... I cannot say how wonderful it feels to watch us do what we did...reminiscent of Fergie's best... Really proud of the lads and the way we didn't give up...slightly squiffy but oh so fucking happy... What are you trying to say? Someone had to ask!

Football. Bloody hell! Woke an extremely jet-lagged Mrs, next doors toddler and had the nurse opposite my flat knocking on my door for waking her up celebrating Matic’s winner!! Sound proof your walls

I really don't think Lindelof was as bad as some thought he was last night. I actually feel more confident seeing him in there with every game he plays.
Way too soon to be writing off a young central defender in his first season in England anyway, that's for sure.

I don't think anybody is writing him off, more a case of stating the obvious that up to now, he's been pretty dogshit. But, as Vidic, Evra and others have shown, things can quite easily change in time.

I wouldn't say he's been dogshit, looked nervous as hell at the beginning of the season but has improved and grown in confidence IMO. He's certainly still below the standard I want from a regular starter and if everyone's fit he's on the bench but I think he'll continue improving and we'll see a much more composed and solid player next season.

Yesterday's game reminded me of our comeback against Blackpool. Largely poor, but we pulled the rabbit out the hat.
That's something we've missed sorely. Yesterday's game , I feel , puts the x factor back into the equation against any side. That we can be shit for long period of time but we have the ability to snatch victory from under the nose of defeat. That's huge , in my eyes. Just the knowledge of that , can put a lot of doubt in opposition mindset when they go up against us.
It is also proof that the hairdryer works. Jose should get it out more often. Clearly the bollocking at half time worked.

Also, Lindelof will come good I feel. He's just come in from Portugal . The way defending works there , under a different manager, to adjust immediately to the premier league is not as easy for some . But once he gets the hang of it , I think he will be solid.

The press will do that enough for you.
