We're in the champions league next season (almost) so they won't sack Jose, regardless of the cup. Champions league revenue is what they want. Anyway, the manager has taken us from 6th to 2nd and won 2 trophies in that time. The football is awful, but he won't be going soon. Only way is if he starts like he did during his last Chelsea season. Nobody wants that. I'm in the 'won't be upset if he stays or goes' group. Get used to him being here guys.
This.
The owners don't care if we're playing sparkling football.
They don't care if we are winning, or even challenging for, the title.
They probably do care if young academy kids are getting into the team, but only because 2 or 3 quality young players coming through saves them 100M plus in transfer fees, can even make money by selling players off to make room for them.
They care about getting into the Champions League and the revenue that makes. Moyes was sacked because we weren't getting top 4. Van Gaal was sacked because he didn't get top 4. So far Mourinho has got us back to back Champions League qualification (well, we bloody should this season).
If we don't get top 4 next season, or win the Champions league, he'll be sacked. If we finish 4th playing the most mind numbingly boring football possible, whilst selling Rashford and Martial and playing Fellaini every week, he'll keep his job.
There is one thing only they care about.
Well, I'm sure the owners didn't appreciate the tons of empty seats yesterday

Jose on today's match, and his players' attitudes. Article stated he was singling out Pogba's performance. “Probably because I won eight championships, I was not in the moon with the victory against them [City]. It was only three points. That didn’t make me feel super happy and, in my opinion, it affected some of the people that were too happy. I have lots of experience because I won eight titles and I was not over the moon ... but I saw lots of people who were on the moon. During the week I was trying to fight that. With my experience you don’t titles with inconsistency. You win, of course, with quality, but with consistency in every level, not just the performance level but also the mental level. One of the things we have to improve is consistency.” wut. He's not one of us. He is a professional manager who ended up here and not across the road for circumstances only. It was quite clear that he lost the war to his most bitter rival personally, so I didn't expect him to be over the moon just as I wouldn't think Pep gave a fuck even though he wouldn't say it for obvious reasons. I know people would expect Jose not to say that it didn't matter but personally I don't really prefer players who go on social media saying we should look forward and all that crap after putting half-arsed performances, treating fans like herds of infantile idiots. I have no interest in rallying calls in the media. Just do your business on the pitch (and hopefully in training too!) and shut the fuck up altogether in between.

lack of real quality leadership on and off the pitch. also like Karma said we seem to be very reactive, the noisy neighbours rather have been progressively pro active same for the scousers. We react by trying to throw money at problems that actually really need good coaching. if we are all being honest there has been logic to each appointment but the killer issue with all of them is really the football they played was just simple boring, always gonna cause an issue when your at a club that has had brilliant attackers and even now has brilliant attackers, the managerial appointments should have complimented the players at the club. The first point screams Alexis Sanchez. It is evident that it is a signing that should never have happened. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, and hopefully things will get better after a good long pre-season with us but fuck me what an underwhelming first few months here. As for the brilliant attackers, Lingard (particularly) and Rashford have both made progress under Jose but for me Martial unfortunately is proving Jose right. Yes, he was playing well when THAT signing happened and perhaps had the right to feel he was unfairly treated. But so was Rashford. Instead of working harder and seizing his chances (like yesterday) he's been hiding in his shell since. As Lukaku described him... French, never happy... I do hope he plays no part in his agent's flirting with the gossip pages in the media

The only thing I care about is enjoying the football again. I've stopped caring about anything else. Just want to be excited to wake up for football otherwise why bother? Exactly, nail on the head. The problem is, that's never going to be happening under this current manager. I still maintain he's not the right fit for us. You're most certainly not going to be waking up excited about football under this guy.

My first and only visit to OT this year.
I had a great day up until I walked in to the stadium...

Just saw his interview, talking about the 8 titles he won.
He'll never admit anything. Just say it like it is, instead of assuming everybody else is stupid.

Actually I don't think he will be sacked if he doesn't win the Champions league. Fergie won 3 European trophies in 21 years (5 years off due to the murdering scousers). It is a hard trophy to win, luck, ref decisions, injuries aside. We have to be at least running close to a league win imo, however sacking a manager for runner up is Chelsea territory. If we are still spending shed loads of money without signs of progression the owners may have an excuse then. I don't know why Fellani keeps being brought up either, did he play yesterday or something. Rashford won't be sold, he's 20 years old. He's not going to go to a rival and I doubt he wants to go to a mid table team either. Martial may go if a decent bid comes in and we have a replacement lined up. I'd probably be looking to move Mata on first before him though. He was awful yesterday. I wonder if he's on the decline?

What is being a supporter all about if you can't get a buzz about that?

The Scousers have given Klopp time though for all his faults. Plenty on here have mocked him for a lack of any real progression, CL run aside.

To be fair they gave him time because the football was good and at first they didn't want to give him money to spend. They have given him some money and the football is even better as are the results, in that case you keep giving him more time. This champions league run has bought him another year easily. With us the football is pathetic, at this moment Jose Mourinho is a glamour name as nothing on the pitch shows the past glory of the man. For me he has done his job, which is get in better players, now what we need is someone that is progressive in their thinking, expansive in their style, brilliant in their coaching and development, light on the spending and excellent in their man management.

I do hope he plays no part in his agent's flirting with the gossip pages in the media Lukaku, lingard, mata, martial, rashford and sanchez, in fact throw pogba in that mix, a top manager should really have all of those players smashing in goals, their talent is befitting of that. Their talent is befitting of youtube highlights galore where they all get fans off their seats with one touch brilliance, moments of dazzling skill and goals that make you stand and clap. instead we have disjointed football, hot and cold mess, no passing sense or skill, fans standing up in frustration to scream, swear and boo. Its madness. On Martial under no circumstances at his age should be even be thinking of the exit door for him, LVG got a beat out of him because he made him feel like the main man, lets not forget the moments he gave us that season, Jose should have moved him forward, but his archaic man management style has hampered the progress of the player, the regular benching and funny tactics don't help, what's even worst is when the lad is playing well he is benched. I am baffled at what I see in the club.

I know Arsenal are supposedly looking at Thomas Tuchel to replace Wenger. I'd go for Tuchel to replace Jose to be honest, young up and coming manager, type of guy we need imo. Apparently he's a bit mental though. Not in a good way. Oh, absolutely, I heard that. But he way he approaches games with good, positive, entertaining football would probably out-weigh that for me. PSG and Arsenal are looking at him, if Tuchel goes to them, wait until you see the improvement he'll bring. Keep an eye on him, he's exactly the type of manager we're pretty much crying out for imo.

He is the type but not the guy. Need to be careful here with libel etc but if you go digging you’ll find info about him and his style which wasn’t popular shall we say. With any of the players.
