God how I miss Fergie! It's not fair seeing these old clips of Fergie. What a fucking legend. In what way shape or form did we (did we?) think Jose was worthy to pick up where he left off? The fact we had Moyes and the Mad King in there too is even more cringeworthy. Well, he didn't pick up where Fergie left off. If he would've been appointed then, I honestly think we'd have one or two more league titles by now. |

I watched the Paddy Crerand show on MUTV earlier.
I'm genuinely stunned at what I saw.
Apparently we've a 'great squad of players'. We 'need to get behind the team' and everything that's going on now is due to 'outside influences'.
You couldn't make it up.

Actually, I think that his "toeing the party line" comes down to wanting a paycheck, an that pisses me right off
bout as much as anything in the current "command" structure does.
I refuse to believe he doesn't see what even casual fan can see, that the organization needs to be cleared starting
at the top.
Makes me about as mad as anything I have see happening in last couple years

It might be an unpopular opinion but I don't think the squad is that bad IF they play to their potential...
Lukaku (barring the miss), Rashford, Martial, Lingard and Pogba are all decent as an attacking threat...
Matic still good in MF, Fred looks a player and Herrera surely hasn't regressed so far from when he was player of the year? Mata still has a bit of magic.
Shaw is finally showing why he could become one of the best LBs in Europe and we have DDG...the world's best keeper...Tony V is pretty dependable but not good enough going forward...
The rest of the defence is a shambles but again maybe if coached and encouraged could see out the season reasonably well before we buy in some class...
And we have some decent youth players who could be developed by the right coaching...
Don't get me wrong, I am still hugely pessimistic about this season but I don't think we have a squad that is so much worse than anything else in the PL...

I agree, those calls were definitely screened. Also Crerand has his favourite lines 'it's only 3 games in' and 'the world comes to and end when United lose'. It was like MUTV were desperately trying to polish a turd and failing miserably. |

There are a lot of good players in the squad, as was proven in the World Cup. |

Imagine peak Sanchez from Arsenal fighting for positions with a top form Martial and the Rashford we saw smash Liverpool last season. Then Pogba having one of those games where everything he touches turns to gold, teeing up chances for Lukaku to slot away for fun. If all of our lads played to their potential at the same time, we probably win the title, or at least come damn close. The problem is it's rare any of them are. Only DDG and Matic did it consistently last year IMO. |
