so we seem to have a lot of problems in here, everyone who claims otherwise must be blind.
we all witness a tough time regarding united, the club is struggling to get back to where it belongs, we have morons running the club and a manager who splits the fan`s opinions. players that shouldnt be playing for this badge or are simply not good enough. all of it a mixture that doesnt help united getting back to the top.
meanwhile, connected to the clubs bad form we manage to destroy ourselves here on RoM. just look back a year or two. we dont really become more regular posters, on the contrary, we`re getting less and less. i dont know if that should be the solution, a tiny elitist group of fans. this is more or less what this place has become. every now and then one of the new members decides to actually post a few comments. but as soon as he`s got a different opinion to most others in here, they are getting all the shit towards them, leading up to them leaving again.
we manage to constantly have serious issues with others in here, be it regular posters, mods or admins. with all due respect to mods and admins, but most of you for me dont feel like people who actually try to keep this place civilized (at the moment at least). people being called out but as soon as the same replies go back, people are threatened to be banned from here. you guys should be the ones keeping a neutral form, showing us how to not behave. on the other side we are all adults and should know better. many regular posters in here who constantly stir up shit and confrontations, leading to pages of useless discussions and threats.
banter is fine, calling out different or stupid opinions also. the problem lies more in the way it is done, the words being used etc. while we could all do with a thicker skin, the responsibility to keep this place a great board about our beloved club lies on all of us, regular posters, mods and admins. at the moment pretty much everyone in here is guilty of stupid behaviour and if we keep it going this place will die eventually. not sure this is something anyone in here wants to see happening.
and yes, i`m not only calling out us regular posters but also the team behind the board. i cant imagine anyone who actually enjoys whats happening with this place at the moment. we have people with great insight of the club, people with huge knowledge about football and united, people with different opinions regarding certain players and manager, so why not trying to use all the variety to thrive again and make this an interesting place, rather than slowly but surely destroying ourselves and leaving a handful of posters back.

Mods insulting people for having a different opinion than them isn't the best practice, nor is continually getting at people's grammar, but at the same time everyone probably needs thicker skin.
While a bunch of people might have better insight, might have played the game at a higher level or have better connections to journalists, their opinion means the exact same as everyone else.

Case in point, thanks Bestie. Huh? deleted comment? Yeah he bit on the grammar part straight away saying everyone should use correct grammar. Nevermind the fact that we have many people on the forum from differing levels of education, background and nationality. He also complained about my point about opinions, liking it to space travel. An astronauts opinion being more important than someone who looked at the sky or something along those lines. The difference being Bestie is not a former Man United player, nor a staff member at the club. In fact to my knowledge he isn't a former professional footballer. If there is anyone here with those credentials then they have absolutely more weight to their opinions than I have. I played football as a child. I had trials at pro teams. I definitely didn't take it seriously enough because I always wanted to be a wrestler. That and I probably wasnt good enough to begin with! I did however play for a club in Belfast, my school, and University. I've supported this club for 30 years. I've been to Old Trafford over 100 times. I have friends who are football journalists. My opinion still means the same as everyone else.

While a bunch of people might have better insight, might have played the game at a higher level or have better connections to journalists, their opinion means the exact same as everyone else. Seeing as though this is clearly aimed at me (although I’m an admin, not a mod)- I didn’t insult Heartbreaker for having a different opinion to mine. I ‘insulted’ him because he dismissed me as a top red. Which has become some sort of shorthand for a fan with a superiority complex. And it originally stemmed from his opinion, which was a complete nonsense. Now I’m sorry if that sounds harsh but it’s true. Yes, everyone is entitled to their opinion but if it’s an opinion as preposterous as one that says they don’t care about FA Cups or League Cups then they’ll be called out on it. People very rarely get threatened with being banned on here. They actually get banned even rarer. However calling me or any other member of staff a top red will get you a warning (though not a warning level). And we do try to keep the place civil despite what the original poster thinks. The grammar thing though, I’m with you. I don’t t think it’s particularly important to correct people as long as though the posts are readable.

Does the calling of 'top red' threat apply to everyone? Just staff would indeed imply a superiority complex.

It wasn't specifically aimed at you as I have I've been on this forum for over 10 years and seen it happen plenty. Multiple times a week. However, even now you are calling his opinion nonsense. Says who? From reading what he wrote, he says he cares about the league first and cups second. Lukaku needs to score more in the league. He is definitely not wrong and that opinion is shared amongst a large part of our fan base. I was amazed it became an argument!

Not wrong about Lukaku scoring goals in the league *
I quite like the cups myself.

Seriosly gents i think proper grammar or the lack of it is the least of our worries on this wonderful site. I hope people will continue to vent and discuss many varied topics. I know its what i come on here for. Just my two cents worth...
