Yeah he bit on the grammar part straight away saying everyone should use correct grammar. Nevermind the fact that we have many people on the forum from differing levels of education, background and nationality. He also complained about my point about opinions, liking it to space travel. An astronauts opinion being more important than someone who looked at the sky or something along those lines. The difference being Bestie is not a former Man United player, nor a staff member at the club. In fact to my knowledge he isn't a former professional footballer. If there is anyone here with those credentials then they have absolutely more weight to their opinions than I have. I played football as a child. I had trials at pro teams. I definitely didn't take it seriously enough because I always wanted to be a wrestler. That and I probably wasnt good enough to begin with! I did however play for a club in Belfast, my school, and University. I've supported this club for 30 years. I've been to Old Trafford over 100 times. I have friends who are football journalists. My opinion still means the same as everyone else. I withdrew my comment as I didn't want to inflame anything, but fuck it. I've had enough. My remark about the equality of every opinion boils down to this. You are confusing the perfectly reasonable expectation of an equal opportunity to have opinions heard (read really, on a forum); that does not entitle people to having their opinions automatically be taken as equal with others. 'My opinion is just as relevant as his!!' is a nonsense. The weight of an opinion is down to the person/people receiving it. Personally, the more someone knows about a particular topic, the more I value their opinions on that topic. The apparent lack of knowledge on here is pathetic at times. Italy, in 2018 , has suffered a measles outbreak among it's school children. Because a group of people think their "opinion" on vaccination is just as valid as the other guy who says vaccination is a proven science. People parading ignorance under the guise of opinion is also the reason why we have flat-earthers, anti-vaxxers, religious fanatics, evolution-debunkers, and Alex Jones. If this entire thread is because a mod slated someone else for an opinion, it's ridiculous , and hypocritical, because there isn't a single person on this board that doesn't do that. Not one. Your opinion is based on your judgement on a subject and it isn't always factual, so those reading it don't have to agree with it, and can also call bullshit. I really don't see the big issue in that . Also, being a football forum, things will always be tribalistic and intense. I don't get why this is a problem. You can't get on with everyone. You wouldn't in your actual lives, and this is the bloody internet. Storm in a teacup ..

I noticed something in the match day thread the other day - When rashford got sent off I said that I thought that for his part it was the correct decision but only one poster disagreed with me in any form. Am I seen as the ban hammer still?
On the whole if people disagree with anyone and the conversation is kept civil then there is no need to ban anyone so people shouldn't be worried about voicing an opinion.

Also you'll always have the title "Ban hammer".

There's no way to have a forum based on such volatile topics without arguments . There will always be confrontation. If people don't want arguments on this forum, just stop responding to people they disagree with. But what's the point of a forum in that case ? Thick skin is what I'll go with. For example, the amount of abuse Karma gets here because she sides with Jose in arguments is borderline criminal. She takes it on the chin and moves on. How many mods and admins have argued with her on her opinions ? You don't hear her complain . She gets on with it , as she should. It's the internet, people are going to disagree, there will be friction. When you close the computer and turn it back on the next day it's over.

I may disagree with Karma (mainly on Sanchez) but she always argues her points with clarity and passion. That’s to be respected.

You can have disagreements, arguments or discussions with out acting a self righteous prick (not aimed at anybody in particular). As for Karma I've had disagreements or differences in opinion but not once have I insulted her or acted a prick in her direction, same goes with everybody else. It can be done. If she wants to back Mourinho then that's her choice, I'll respect it whether I choose to agree with it. I can also guarantee that if the same said to her would have been said to a mod/admin then the situation would have been dealt with completely differently. Why is it so hard for people to be civil instead of acting holier than thou? Some people have more knowledge than others does than mean they contribute more or less to this place? Does it fuck.

Completely missed the point, It's gotten to the point that this thread needed to be made because we're borderlining on censorship. It's not just come from nowhere and blown up today. Disagree with a mod/admin? Sure, take a slow walk...but be fucking warned, you'd better not do it again. If you do, say a quick goodbye to your children and parents, for at least a month. Question a mod/admin, fuck my life...Who knows what happens then? I do, the pack mentality comes into play and a certain few join in a no matter what the fuck the subject is, it's fucking wrong

Personally, the more someone knows about a particular topic, the more I value their opinions on that topic. The apparent lack of knowledge on here is pathetic at times. I am not "confusing" anything. When it comes to MUFC we are all pretty much on an even keel. Some people hate to hear that for whatever reason but it is true. We are watching the same games. We are listening to the same interviews. Reading the same media nonsense and so on. Our opinions carry the same weight as anyone on this forum because there isn't one of us who can or will change anything about the club. I can accept that but I will still vent, still try to rationalise, theorise, fantasise, and mostly laugh with somewhat like minded people. It is a forum, you expect arseholes, WUMs, etc you expect many of your posts to fall on deaf ears, you expect arguments, (it is still football,) but you post anyway, but you don't expect the staff to jump down the throat of everyone who disagrees with them and threaten to ban them when it escalates. Staff or not, their opinion means the same.

I called a staff member a tosser and got a month ban. I've probably called everyone outside of the staff members a cunt and got nothing. (love you chris ) Yeah I can't disagree with that! Mind you, you are sailing close to the edge now with your percentage warning! Maybe we should discuss Jose's finer qualities, that should just about do it , ........Joking!
