This used to be a pretty active place, but there does seem to be a lot less posters on here these days. Shame to lose another.
273 users online in 2008, compare that to today.........Users Online in the Last 24 Hours: 3 Staff, 47 Members, 528 Guests.

Seeing as though this is clearly aimed at me (although I’m an admin, not a mod)- I didn’t insult Heartbreaker for having a different opinion to mine. I ‘insulted’ him because he dismissed me as a top red. Which has become some sort of shorthand for a fan with a superiority complex. And it originally stemmed from his opinion, which was a complete nonsense. Now I’m sorry if that sounds harsh but it’s true. Yes, everyone is entitled to their opinion but if it’s an opinion as preposterous as one that says they don’t care about FA Cups or League Cups then they’ll be called out on it. People very rarely get threatened with being banned on here. They actually get banned even rarer. However calling me or any other member of staff a top red will get you a warning (though not a warning level). And we do try to keep the place civil despite what the original poster thinks. The grammar thing though, I’m with you. I do t think it’s particularly important to correct people as long as though the posts are readable. It wasn't specifically aimed at you as I have I've been on this forum for over 10 years and seen it happen plenty. Multiple times a week. However, even now you are calling his opinion nonsense. Says who? From reading what he wrote, he says he cares about the league first and cups second. Lukaku needs to score more in the league. He is definitely not wrong and that opinion is shared amongst a large part of our fan base. I was amazed it became an argument! Says me. He subsequently explained his opinion further after I’d quoted him. It wasn’t in the post I reacted to.

Does the calling of 'top red' threat apply to everyone? Just staff would indeed imply a superiority complex. I am also curious about this. Would staff react differently if a poster insulted a standard member, to if they used the exact same insult directed towards a member of staff?

Absolutely and I think that's been proven consistently on here over the last few years.

Staff on here give up time to keep the place ticking over and have managed to do it for over 10 years. Again, despite what some may say, we do try to keep it civil. Unless there is a very good reason (for example a staff member picking a fight for no reason or reacting/insulting a poster in an OTT fashion) then there is ZERO tolerance towards insulting staff. Always has been and always will be.

Also (and this is important)-
If you have an issue with how the Admins or Mods run RoM then you are within your rights to take it up with Scott.

Always has been and always will be. I don't dispute any of that. I'm not trying to suggest staff don't deserve respect or anything. I don't think people should be allowed to brazenly insult staff to their face (with the possible caveat you suggested of the member of staff 'starting it'). But my question is whether insults to non-staff posters will be treated in the same way? And, if not, what is the reasoning for tolerating insults towards some people but not others?

I called a staff member a tosser and got a month ban. I've probably called everyone outside of the staff members a cunt and got nothing. (love you chris )

If you’re asking do staff get preferential treatment on here then perhaps I’m guilty of it, yes. In that I’d instantly clamp down on it as an Admin. I’d trust the mods to stay on top of other rows and deal with them.

When was the last time any of you spoke to Scott outside of the re-design, or promoting something to buy?
