I'm not debating Stewart earlier stats, re- possession, shots, corner count etc. We did top these areas. To me we just look totally out of ideas. We're beginning to take more time on the ball that we most probably don't need, the two touch stuff. Also there seems to be a general lack of motivation for me which I find really surprising for any United side to have in the first place. For example when I watched us as a kid, even in the 80's when Liverpool were lording you could never question our effort and application even though we were off the pace and lost games at times. I know the club had a drinking culture at that time before Fergie stamped it out, but even the likes of Robbo, Whiteside, Kevin Moran, McGrath, Strachan, Frank Stapleton etc always gave their all. Effort and general application isn't there with this current side, there's something off about us. nail on the head. we don't have 1 proper leader. 1 person getting everyone going and rallying everyone. I absolutely hate that Van Dijk has transformed them cunts. he would have been immense for us We wouldn't have paid that price for him. He won't shift shirts.

There were plenty of games in the league in the 80s when half the team strolled about, particularly when the league was gone. Which most years was November. It’s revisionism to suggest otherwise.

lets all be honest the real managerial appointment should have been pep. say what you wanna say but he would have made things happen, style trophies, arrogance, marketing, pure hate not due to nonsense talk but due to the success and envy.
hindsight is a wonderful thing but I think we have the wrong board and wrong manager. The squad at as it is has enough quality in there to be battling for a title. combination of various things means we are battling for just 3rd and 4th as it stands.

Didn't Ferguson meet him and ask him to take up the job ? I always assumed based on his book and other reports that Guardiola was offered the job , but he declined. He would never be allowed the room to make the wholesale changes here , like he's done there. I severely doubt it.

City then went on laying the groundwork at every opportunity to bring him in. the wholesale changes were made before Pep took the job. the is plenty on Jose's CV to admire but he is stuck in a time warp, his functional football is dull and will always yield up and down results.

Guardiola would never have taken it once he got the full story of Woodward and the Cunts. We're rotten from the top.

Yeah , exactly , our board would never make those changes , whether in preparation for guardiola or after he was hired.

We should also have secured Klopp he would have been a much better fit, as much as I hate to admit it. Klopp's quote that Woodward put him off by claiming United was like Disneyland sums up the kind of charmless idiot we had selling the Club to potential managers. We basically got the easy option each time Moyes(deer in head lights) Van Gaal past it manager after the WC and available. Mourinho past his best. Top 4 PL clubs weren't interested Barca and Real no way. Bayern wouldn't touch him. He could have gone back to Inter at the time.. The point was he was out of a job, under a heavy cloud. The half arse attempts at those managers, showed a total lack of understanding of the club or vision and a lack of any charisma or ability to persuade the right people

Moyes was told by Fergie not to sign a new contract which goes against the idea that he was 5th choice. The owners are skinflints regardless of this idea we can buy any player we want.

I don't disagree completely, but we have spent a lot of money. We need to spend more, but the spending has been chaotic because that idiot Woodward has been mostly reacting to results. I would question how real his contribution to the clubs commercial success is too. If he is so smart, why can't he adapt that legendary management skill to a decent plan for the football club. The hard work has been done in the past, he benefits from that The owners are privileged children of Malcolm Glazer. They are very average rich kids in the right place at the right time and that's just like Woodward. He's a bean counter in the right place at the right time. Just like the Glazer kids, Woodward is the definition of privilege and good fortune. His privilege is benefiting from the decades of hard work that went before him that created the brand he sells. He is mediocrity masquerading as something it's not. I've said it before selling the Manchester United brand is easy up to now, but he has somehow managed to sully it

More game plans and execution like this one will put United squarely in 6th. Not sure what Mourinho can do at this stage. His squad takes a 30-40 minute rest in the middle of each game. No way that is part of the plan. So the squad has stopped responding - if they ever did respond - to whatever Mourinho is serving up.
