Moyes made a similar comment, and was rightly fucked over for it. Only he didn't get backed up with 400m or whatever it is Jose has wasted so far. No, Moyes didn't. He said the level of football is what 'we aspire to be at'. Mourinho is rightly pointing out that in spite of the money spent we are still miles behind the likes of city in terms of squad investment. Guardiola had been given anything he has requested at city. First season, ditched popular England's Number One city Lionheart for a new goalkeeper. New goalkeeper didn't work, sign a new one a year later. Mangala cost 30 odd million a couple of years ago and Gusrdiola had Ben allowed to farm him out on loan just to get rid of hours presence in the squad. Before last season they signed a back up right back for about 30 million quid. John Stones had a dodgy half season so they went out and signed Laporte. Whereas our board hand out new contacts to players the manager wants to offload so the beancounters can demand bigger transfer fees. They veto signing 29 year old centre backs because 'reasons'. We refused to let Darmian go on loan insisting on a ridiculously overpriced permanent deal. So now we're stuck with a player who won't play and takes up a squad place. It's blatantly obvious what Mourinho was getting at. I think making no subs was point proving as well though, which I do disagree with. Mangala was over 40 million unbelievably. Yeah not bringing on a sub was odd though!

We can hate on Jose all we want but I love the fact he's calling out our board and owners through the media. Can't wait to hear what he really thinks of them when he's gone.

I know we have spent a fortune since Fergie but that CL winning squad was allowed to crumble under these carpet baggers.
I shed little tears over the money spent. It's more a case of how poorly it's been used that's been a problem though.

If there's a club we should aspire to he be like its Juve (minus the match fixing). They've been absolutely brilliant in the transfer market. Their squad is the prime example of money well spent. We on the other hand are the complete opposite and legitimately need match fixing to win games at this point.

So glad we bought Fred though. £50m is warming the bench up nicely.

It's because they had an actual football man at the helm, not a fucking accountant, who sanctions purchases/sales whenever he fucking sees fit. The money will be spent well when we have a football man making the decisions. I too, will always support Mourinho calling out those cunts. They are the real problem, and the reason we are in this mess to begin with.

Sky are reporting that we could get sanctioned by UEFA due to the 3 pitch invaders last night. I think the last two United fans were trying to get selfies with Ronaldo!! There was going to be another pitch invader added to the 3 until UEFA realised the 4th was actually just Lukaku

Asked a couple of lads who’d gone to Old Trafford last night if there were any moments of brilliance from us that had been missed by the TV cameras. “Nope” they said in unison “It was fucking shite” And as for José bleating on: No matter how much money gets chucked at him ,nothing will change. The man has feet of clay.

The no value in the market which some fans swallowed. The 6-1 thrashing at OT followed by a dire season in the CL ,then City winning the league all in the same season. While we were still winning it papered over the cracks. A clueless board bowing to Fergie's influence to hire his mate who's biggest achievement was 1 CL qualification in 11 years and who couldn't even get beyond the knock out game. The idea that Giggs with no managerial experience could take over the biggest job in the world following Van Gaal. The warning signs were there. For all the faults of the last 3 managers this board are a fucking joke.

The current valuation of players requires clubs to operate with such a high level of sophistication (and we are so far from sophisticated nowadays), it's a lot harder to simply buy good players from lower-tier clubs like we used to. I think that unless you're backed by a country like City and PSG, you've got to have the long game approach to the transfer market now to stay competitive - as in, buy the next Griezmann from Sociedad, rather than wait for him to become a star as Atletico.

I think everyone can see who United need, apart from our dithering idiot board and owners.

Like Jay , I find it depressing as well . Pjanic for 28 million is fucking ridiculous. He's sublime.
