Fuck it. Let's get some muppeting out of the way... I'm looking forward to next window and think (hope) big things are going to happen.
Wholesale changes needed in defence. We've managed to shift Fellaini shortly after a new contract, so hopefully we can do the same with Smalling. There are no excuses to still have Jones, Rojo, Darmian and Valencia still knocking around next season. We need at least 1 top CB, but preferably 2. Alderweireld seems like a no-brainer. And either Koulibaly or Skriniar on top would give us a formidable defense. We probably need another RB as well, because TFM hasn't done enough for me. I really like Wan-Bissaka.
We've finally shifted Fellaini and he need replacing, Andreas is out of contract and will probably be off, and McTominay needs a loan. I'd like to see a good young DM who can challenge and eventually replace Matic - I've been watching Sander Berge for a while, and he looks like a player. And I think we need 1 more. I still love the idea of Pogba and Milinkovic-Savic playing together.
I've said before that I'd be okay with us not signing an attacker unless we can get someone top drawer, ideally Sancho. I know RW has been a blind spot recently, but I'd rather see if Chong, Gomes, or Greenwood has enough to take Lingard's spot before chucking money around. But with that said, hopefully we can somehow find a buyer for Sanchez, in which case we'll need someone. Someone like Bailey, Pepe, Under, Chiesa, or Neres would do the trick. I wouldn't be heartbroken if Rom left, but getting rid shouldn't be a priority. After a perfect window, our squad should look something like -
DDG, Henderson, Grant.
Alderweireld, Skriniar, Lindelof, Bailly, Tuanzebe, Dalot, Wan-Bissaka (TFM), Shaw, Young.
Matic, Pogba, SMS, Herrera, Fred, Mata, Berge (any other young DM with high ceiling), Garner.
Rashford, Martial, Sancho, Lukaku, Lingard, Chong, Gomes, Greenwood.
Signing 6 players in one window might be too much to ask, but it's nice to dream.

Ndombele, Koulibaly and Sancho. Bring back Axel and TFM, promote them to the first team and give them a chance. Sell Jones, Rojo and Darmian and let Valencia walk. On the fence with Mata and whether we resign him.

If they have to buy Poch out of his contract I can't see us going on a spending bender!
Especially when you consider how much we get stung on transfers.

On the contrary - if we go for someone like Poch, I expect them to spend a huge chunk of money on his first summer transfer window, it's with Ole that I'd be concerned. If Ole is hired full-time it'll mean that he's done a spectacular job with the players he already has, which will be twisted in the board's mind to "we don't need to spend much in order to maintain the same result next season - if Ole managed to do so well with half a season, just imagine what he'll do in a full season after spending a bit of money."

If we dont spend seriously big this summer this post will be irrelevant, so that depends on the wanker yanks and Woodworm, some youth promoted obviously too.

If ex players think Ole is being mugged off they will start moaning to the press unlike a different manager would imo.

If the board paid any attention to what the supporters thought, the green and gold protest would’ve seen them off ages ago. Ex players mouthing off to the press at every opportunity they were given contributed to the toxicity surrounding the club before Ole was appointed.

I'll accept it if we dont strengthen anywhere else. Get out there and spend too much money on Koulibaly. Get it over the line asap.
