don't see how werner would fit in personally, he would push rashford out wide. we need a RW. can understand not wanting Wan bisaka too. no reason we cant get 3 top players though We don't need an RW if we play the 4-4-2 diamond; in that scenario Rashford and Martial's positioning is far more flexible, drifting wide but then darting back in more. That formation needs two full backs who can dominate a whole flank; hopefully Shaw and Dalot can do that. If we do stick to the diamond, we'd sooner need an upgrade on Lingard, ideally someone with his industry, willingness to drop deeper and unselfish nature, but also a better finisher and more comfortable spearheading the line if Martial/Rashford do drift wide. That midfield diamond is the worst football formation I have ever seen , imo. In today's game, I struggle to see how it would work. |

Werner can play on the right. definitely worth going in for him then especially if he will be cheap. Yep, a quality CB won’t come cheap so we have to be realistic! |

In today's game, I struggle to see how it would work. on Old Trafford I cant see it working week in week out. but theres games where its useful 4-3-3 should be our formation movin forward. were pretty much there and set up. we just need a proper RW and better players |

Lingard at the tip of the diamond, Rashford and Martial up front. Jesse's positioning has been central but he's not been spearheading the line. nor has he really been a false 9 either IMO. Rashford and Martial have drifted wide a fair bit but in the games where I think we've played a diamond they haven't been wingers or even inside forwards; they've had too central core positions for that. Our best football under Ole has come with it IMO. Maybe you could call it a 4-3-1-2 depending on Matic's positioning. |

The last thing we need is an exciting young right back - we have one already. That aside, the rest of what you lay out would be a strong summer. We need another full back otherwise we all know Young will be starting more games than he should be! Dalot is a kid and won’t be starting every game. Dalot and Young is also our back up LB's. If Shaw is out for a significant amount of time or his form drops, we're suddenly looking very short in those positions. We need another full back. |
