I've just been reading the below on MEN, for someone who was considered the best in the world this stat is shocking......
"However, his form has dipped over the last two seasons, with a number of errors costing United on various occasions. His blunder three minutes into the game against Everton was his SEVENTH error leading to a goal since the start of last season - the joint most in the Premier League ."
It doesn't feel good criticizing Dave in any way at all but he really needs to pull his finger out!!

I'd wager they dwarf the 7 errors leading to goals..

Well as everyone was debating whether to keep Dave or move him on etc. it was merely to highlight how as a top level keeper, best in the world in some people's eyes, 7 mistakes for someone of his reputation is pretty bad and i think it is fair to say he needs to buck his idea's up. i'm not arguing that he hasn't saved us more times than he's let us down because you can bet your life he has but that is a very poor stat and he needs to improve 🤷♂️

If we sack Ole, I don't think that there are many PL clubs that would want to hire him.. which is kinda crazy given that he is the manager of Manchester United. Very true. I genuinely think a case could be made that United, Chelsea and Arsenal - the three biggest behemoths of the PL era - have the three worst managers in the league. At the very least they have the three managers who had to do the least to earn their jobs, and are probably the three most unproven managers. All were appointed with massive amounts of nostalgia overcoming objectively looking at their record as managers (or lack thereof). It's all rather strange. Also, I am 100% certain that not a single PL club would appoint Ole if he became a free agent and they had an opening.

I definitely wouldn't sell De Gea. He's been off his best for a while now but he still has it in him IMO.
He is also a club legend regardless of what happens next. As Redcase said, he pissed away his best years with this club when inferior players were winning much bigger trophies. He only has one league title from his whole time here which is an utter travesty given he is genuinely in the conversation for the greatest ever goalkeeper.
Had he left when Real were in for him in 2015 I would have said fair play to him. Since then he's given us another five years, at least three of which he was by far the best in the world in his position. When he does leave I expect it will be on his terms with our blessing rather than a deliberate choice from us to sell.
Edit: It's funny - I always feel like we're a club known for goalkeeper issues because of our stint in the early/mid-2000s, but we have actually had three goalkeepers who are in the conversation for greatest ever - Schmeichel, DDG and VDS (who was past his best, albeit still excellent, with us but was revolutionary in his earlier days with the way he played with his feet). Then there's also Stepney who was before my time but by all accounts excellent.

He made a mistake but he also pulled off a few good saves aswell. People are talking as though the lad has past it. I think he's got more left in the tank but the mistakes are becoming too much of a habit now. Still can't understand the Everton mistake. He wasnt under pressure until the point where he put himself in that position, surely he could see DCL coming towards him.
Imo selling Dave is the wrong move but then at the same time we also risk losing a promising young keeper in Henderson if we wait much longer as the mistakes build. It's a catch 22. Maybe its because even after the mistakes I still dont want him to leave. Got a soft spot for the lad because of all the shit he's clawed us out of pretty much single handedly at times.
Must be a Spanish thing. Mata and Hererra are the same. Gutted when Ander left will be the same with Juan.

Like you say he's spent his best years here and hasn't got as much to show for it as he'd have hoped. If he chose to leave i don't think any United fan would begrudge him. But how long do we continue to accept these mistakes and say it's ok because he's saved us so much in the past, if he makes another 7 mistakes over the next couple of seasons that lead to goals and dropped points would we say that's acceptable? I hope he can get back to the top of the pile!! Just my opinion but for me, big Pete was the greatest keeper we've ever had and should be up there as one of the greatest of all time!!

Does humour me though. A lot of those calling for Dave to be dropped or sold are the same people defending Pogba because he's "world class" (Not aimed st anybody here, just from what I've seen in general)
Dave may make mistakes but he puts the effort in 99% of the time. Pogba is a fucking waster, a world class player that for us has never been one. Says in the summer he wants out and people still stand by him. Fucking bizarre. But we'll offer him a stupid wage and he'll "be happy again". Fuck the ego laden cunt off.

I think the best case scenario right now is to sell Henderson to Sheffield United or similar with an ironclad buyback clause that gives the club he goes to a £10-15m profit (i.e. they get something but we would likely get a bargain given the current rate of inflation in the market). Proper Real/Barca style. That way he can grow properly, hopefully featuring for England, whilst we can still nab him back if we ever need him.

Someone alluded to it in the thread earlier but AWB looks gassed to me. Dalot should get some games if only to get AWB refreshed. AWB was poor yesterday, at least going forward, anytime he's in a decent position he seems like he hasn't a clue what to do. Imagine how good he'd be with a top coach to develop that part of his game?
