He's lucky that most of our rivals have been as shit as us this season but he has no hiding place next season.
We all know where this is going and I can't be arsed typing it out again.

If we get CL football, is that a good enough reason to not replace him? (in an ideal world where our owners actually care about footballing results). I mean, surely doing worse than Moyes is an inexcusable offense.. right?

I mean, surely doing worse than Moyes is an inexcusable offense.. right? The problem is the standards have dropped, when moyes was sacked we was still a big club still mentioned in title talk, especially after just winning the league the year before, now we havnt even been close to a league for years, we ain't even consistently in the CL these days, so the board will defo back him if we get the top 4, they will see that as progress, and also the cash cow they want.

Top four is all they care about. No way Ole goes if he scrambles European Cup qualification short a fanbase revolt.
I don't think I want us in the European Cup as also-rans.

If we get top 4, then it’s hard to argue against ole staying. If he does it at the the very least we will have another summer of below par players leaving and some decent ones coming in, if he gets another 3/4 quality players in he will have no excuses whatsoever.

If he does it with less points than Moyes managed and due to the shitness of everyone else? It really isn't.

TBF, of late, (read: since Bruno) the football has been better than anything Moyes doled out for us.

Ole isn't good enough for us and luckily scraping Top 4 or unluckily not making it won't change that. However, it might (sadly only might) change his employment status as manager.
That said, getting top 4 could be good if it means we get Sancho and one or two other reinforcements. We won't, but, y'know, we might.

That's my big fear...we get top 4, Ole stays and we miss out on the opportunity to get a top manager in...
