I’m trying not to be to negative as it was the first game back but it’s hard to ignore certain issues because they have been there now for a while. Ole has had 3 months to have a think and yet still we are starting that game with a 4-3-2-1 which just isn’t effective vs teams that are sitting behind the ball. Not to mention little things like Mctominay and Fred coming short all the time with Wan Bissaka and Shaw not pushing on means we start every attack with at least 7 players behind the ball. Just seems like such a basic thing to address and yet we plough on.

It does trust the full backs more than I'd like but it slots both Pogba and Fernandes in the side and around the mixer.

Players are rusty after 3 months off. But samme with the mistakes. Nothing has changed really. Theres no plan B. The amount of times AWB or Shaw had the ball and other players were literally just stood there was unbelievable. Martial at one point was frozen for a good 10 seconds where he didn't even move. I mean come the fuck on. How many seasons has he been at the club and he's still fucking lazy. Infuriates me even more that we didn't go in for Werner, we've scored 45 goals in 30 games ffs. Missed a fucking gem there. Fucking clubs lack of ambition fucks me off.

That's normal for Martial, but god help you if you suggest getting rid of him. 1 good goal/game and the previous 9 shit games get ignored. He has the potential but not the desire. But its always the manager that is to blame.

(Bare with me as I'm 2 parts pissed atm) Sometimes I think get rid, hes been at the club long enough and and worn the patience thin with bid lazy attitude. However 9n the other side he can produce that one bit of magic and prove how good he really can be. Its so fucking frustrating. Sadly enough though he isn't consistent enough which is why Chelsea signing Werner for 50m has fucked me off so much. Our recruitment team is wank. Wipe them all pit and start again.

That goal we conceded was utter shite. How did we shell out 90 million on Maguire. De Gea was trash for that too. Really bad.

If that is the foreseeable future for the premier league, we are in for some very dull games. The whole thing felt like a farce if I'm honest. I generally watch preseason as an excuse to get the lads together and have a few beers, that's what that felt like last night. Roy Keane was the most exciting thing!

Kind of expected this to be honest , players are going to be rusty and will take some time to get into the groove. Not saying its acceptable.
Just my thoughts As many already pointed out , James nowhere near good enough to be regular starter.world class right forward should be the biggest priority. Martial like Rashford is better on the left where his pace and dribbling can be utilized rather than as a striker where he spent the entire game getting no service and sulking. Greenwood is the long term striker but for now we will have to manage with Ighalo and him rotating.Another striker would be nice, but am not holding my breath for ed and glazer overlords to approve it soon. Lindelof and Maguire starting together is not a good idea , Maguire needs someone much more faster and physical alongside him.

Still feel like we need a peak Matic sort of player to sit at the base of our midfield to balance out all of our attack minded players.

Imagine missing out on the likes of Haaland and Werner. Dropped the ball there twice. Martial is nowhere near consistent enough. 5 seasons and still hasn't surpassed 11 league goals.
Start Rashford up top.

Because he played in a world cup semi and got player of the year at Sheff Utd and Hull. Come on, can you not remember? There were enough on here who deemed the above to be sufficient to proclaim him a wonder signing.

Hopefully Greenwood will be ready to replace Martial as number 1 striker next season. He honestly already looks far more consistently dangerous than Martial does.

I think most people assumed he’d be 45-50 million. The 80 odd we paid for him was bonkers. No one thought that was a good idea.

Start Rashford up top. Werner yes but we didn’t miss out on Haaland. He turned us down. You can’t force a player to join your club. Now, the reasons why he turned us down are the story.
