Personally I think the buys and departures last summer and January have been very good. Where the prices were right or not is a different matter entirely and that is the case a lot in football.
My biggest concern probably is the coaching and manager, I can’t see that our game has improved or is at the level it should be at with the personnel available. Countering is great but there should also be an element of control, intricate passing in tight spots to break teams down.
I like Ole and if he has chosen every player in and those out then clearly DOF is the best role for him, we really need to kick on not next season, but really we should have kicked on beating spurs. We need villa to do us a favour and that should not be the case

AWB and Fernandes were obvious ones. Ighalo is a nice story and everything but we failed to sign a striker in the summer and apparently Ole was happy with that. So us being desperate in January is on him.

For his price tag I wouldn’t have paid it but we did pay the price, I think he has gotten better, sadly his dance partner has regressed and Harry has never been one to carry a whole defence, that doesn’t make him a bad player. James has been rushed in, not his fault that we haven’t done proper work in the market whereby he should have come in, got better coaching and develop his game beyond just pace. Awb good signing, Ighalo good signing regardless of what we should have or or didn’t do. We clearly don’t want a new number one striker. Fernandes good signing.

Oh forgot to add... Even this isn't as fun anymore. Fuck Sky and the Premier League for ruining everything. Thought I'd try at least.

So us being desperate in January is on him. Yup, this. Anyone could have seen AWB and Fernandes as obvious, get them done, signings. It was hardly outstanding work by Ole. If one of the biggest teams in the world, with a global scouting network, couldn't find a defender at the very least as good as Maguire for a quarter of the price, never mind better than him, then they want sacked. Every single one of them. James was a random punt and a nice story. He's blisteringly quick and seems a lovely down to earth lad. Good enough for United though? Not really, not as anything more than a squad option to get a few run outs a season, unless he seriously improves over the next 18 months or so. Compare him to Kanchelskis, Beckham, Ronaldo, even Valencia. Any of the right wingers that came before him. The departures were needed, Ole gets a nice tick there. But the incomings need to be significantly better this window, and I know a lot of that is on Ed to actually get deals done, but still. 2 very good but equally obvious signings in 3 windows isn't anything special.
