For me Klopp is best manager currently active (yuck !). liverpool was in a similar situation to us when he came in. This is what happened 1st full season : 4th (76 points) 2nd full season: 4th (75 points) 3rd full season: 2nd (97 points) 4th full season: PL winners (99 points) See the 2nd season and 3rd season difference , that is just due to Van dijk. Their second season was very much similar to what we are going through now. So if it took 4 seasons for klopp , why do we expect Ole to do it in 2 seasons ? Bare minimum we need a good CB and a RW to mount a serious challenge. Although ideally i would say we need 2 CBs , one midfielder to replace pogba, RW , attacking RB and a striker (as cavani is 33 and not a long term option) I'm sure most people would agree on the bolded part.
Then, some people believe sacking Ole would land that bunch next summer.
Nobody thinks that.

I am optimistic because I enjoy our football more than I have for years. We are still not consistent enough to be serious title contenders, but we are getting better in that respect too with extended runs of good results. Our ability to turn games on their head is also a cause for optimism. It's been ages since I had the feeling that we're going to win even when we concede first.
Jose brought in finished articles. Pogba, Lukaku, Sanchez, Bailly, Lindelof... we know how that ended. I prefer the recruitment during Ole's reign, but I am tired of arguing who's responsible for the signings- for some Ole's responsible for the dodgy ones, but the obvious good ones carry him. Lastly, perhaps I'm optimistic because I'm old and not as impatient as younger fans are!
Think there's a case to say lukaku should have been kept, ole alienated him in favour of martial and look how thats turned out, everyone wants him out. Then there's smalling, look how thats turned out, he'd be far better over lindelof any day of the week. Its not all on ole but some of it is and he needs to look at how his defence is being coached because its a shambles, if that means brining in a new coach or something then do it. P.s. I'm not young and I'm impatient, everyone is different, 7 years we've waited, you're optimistic where most are not, like someone on here said recently its all very very fragile There isn't. Lukaku needed to go, but he also needed to be properly replaced.

I didnt say it was all on ole, was just trying gauge how and why you can be so optimistic. Its also debatable that ole has done well in the transfer market. One thing I do know is, we can't keep buying players hoping they reach their potential, thats in part what is holding us back. we need finished articles now, proper technically good players with football brains. Let's see who he brings in next..... I am optimistic because I enjoy our football more than I have for years. And don't really care about winning things apparently.

That just doesn't work. Axel and Bailly deserves more chances

I love Bailly, but his recent resurgence is based on three good games and Lindelof being muck. I'd happily keep him but would still look to bring in at least one established CB to lead that defence.
Axel has also had issues with injuries. I also think he is undermined by having to be bedded in when the defence is all over the place at the moment.

There was so much snobbery with him because he was seen to a better defender than on the ball. Well look at how his replacement turned out. Southgate made the same mistake surprise surprise. Because we blew all that money on Maguire we didn’t replace Lukaku which was another monumental error. We’ve had well over a year without a proper striker. Remember when Jose was rotating Rashford and Martial and we had meltdowns. You don’t think Jose had worked them both out ? I keep hearing about how good his transfers are but we are still ultimately being held together by one of the only real success story so far who he is terrified to drop. He knows it, we know it.

Smalling has been here for ages and was never going to get better than not good enough. Maguire, for whom we criminally overpaid, was at the centre of a defence with the third best record in the league last season. I am not surprised that people who wanted Rashford sold, or those who questioned his potential to become the world beater that Martial was, have little faith in a CB who is suffering from a dip in form having played every single minute for 18 months running. It’s a good match with wanting to sack a manager who got us back in the CL in his first full season and second top (while being top scorers) in the second. He recently rested Bruno against the scouse. In the FA Cup. The competition I later learned some are terrified to win as it would keep the manager in the job. A job he doesn’t deserve because he can’t win trophies. Fucking hell.

Fucking hell. the fa cup didn’t keep lvg in a job and it won’t with ole(if we don’t qualify for the CL) 4th and the sponsorship money is all that matters to those parasites in Florida. if we get to the semis then get knocked out again but get 4th any top club would still fire the manager for lack of progress but not Utd as it would be regarded as a satisfactory season.

Martial is not a world beater-not even close. Rashford might get to that level eventually but probably not under Ole. And absolutely without Bruno he's be without a job.
Also it is the final league position that counts. Yes we may have briefly been top of the table. But think of how much time under Ole we've spent languishing in the middle of the table. A club of our level should at the very least be comfortably in the top four for most of the season. So far Ole has been lucky as he seems to be able to pull off a winning streak just when he needs it most. But eventually his luck will run out.

I make you right on all counts but we`ll still have these parasite owners whoever eventually takes over from Ole and thats our biggest problem.
