Are you trying to claim that sacking Ancelotti and replacing him with Andre Villas Boas was a good decision? The fans would rightly be having kittens. “Elite club mentality, how I miss you”. Eh? I don’t think we’ve ever conducted ourselves like Chelsea in the history of this club. Maybe other than when we sacked LVG after he won the FA Cup, which goes against some of the other points you’ve made. We don’t conduct ourselves like an elite club, but the way Chelsea conduct themselves isn’t the benchmark for that. When we were an elite club, we used to laugh at the way they carried on. A lot of those Chelsea managers were sacked for falling out with either their volatile owner, or because their top players turned on them and went to Roman/the press crying. The atmosphere within the club under Ole hasn’t gone sour yet. I despise Chelsea. In a lot of ways they’re all that’s wrong with the game. Because of Chelsea we now have PSG and even worse City. I despise their plastic fans and their inability to have more than one chant. I despise their shitheap of a ground. I despise their owner and the true reason for why he bought the club in the first place. I am in awe of their decisiveness when it comes to dealing with mediocrity however. And since Fergie left they’re a more successful club than we are. So while their methods are wretched they are better than ours. Which isn’t saying that much I know but still. But there’s more thats gone into that success over that period of time than just axing managers. Their recruitment of players, backing of managers in the market, transfer policy/strategy etc is probably better than ours too. I wouldn’t trust us to get that right regardless of who is in charge is my point.

They sacked Ancellotti for finishing 2nd though. Our fans would be having kittens over that one. 'Have managers been sacked when the club was second?' That Luckhurst article points it out - Ole wasn't shy about sticking the boot into Mourinho for talking up finishing second. Now we have Ole saying we can't be talked about as title challengers, while second.

It's no coincidence that when you are not hamstrung with debt to the eyeballs & have the financial ability to operate decisively ,it tends to bring a lot of clarity to the decision making process.

Whatever his reasons, Roman just wants Chelsea to win. Nothing short of silverware is acceptable. They don't always get the decisions right but the underlying motive is always, win or you're out.

I said our owners weren’t going to sack Ole when he’s second in the league.
