dont count your chickens just yet I’m doing exactly that. I’d say today tipped me over that edge. We’ll get enough points between now and May to ensure Top 4. As I’ve said in another thread, 2 consecutive Top 4 finishes is progress in the post SAF era. You can talk about lowering of standard etc, but I thought Ole was harshly criticised the other week, IMO. I’d love to win a trophy under Ole, but there’s other metrics we can measure progress. And I think that minutiae was missed in Ole’s comments. But hey, that’s just me.

I thought Ole got a lot of criticism for this game also , yes we and started slow , but second half got our act together, dominated and came from behind to win.
Next step should be to win a trophy , its doable this season itself.

Anyway this squad in not good enough to compete for PL or CL , Ole has to get some very good additions for next season (which in all probability he wont get) or he is screwed.
After 7 years of rebuild we were chasing a match and the best that Manchester United had on the bench were James and Scott !

After 7 years of rebuild we were chasing a match and the best that Manchester United had on the bench were James and Scott ! Ole should not be held accountable for that. The previous two overloaded the squad with absolute shite. if anything, he's done a brilliant job in getting some of that crap off our payroll. Hopefully he offloads a couple more in the summer.
For me, consecutive top 4 finishes are a far better metric for progress than winning the League Cup. Perhaps it's not as shiny, doesn't deserve an open top bus parade and I'm not even talking about the cash involved or the CL lure for potential signings. Being fairly consistent over a full season, and currently on course to finish second behind the oily neighbours, is a cause for optimism.

Ofcourse not blaming Ole for that, iam one of the few 'Ole still in' people left here ! Just highlighted the monumental fuck ups of ed and previous managers. But there are some things he does i really dont get , like starting Lindelof every game when we know clearly he can be bullied and out muscled by any premiere league forward , while there arent too many other options on bench , Axel deserves a better run there imo. Also this squad is not good enough , and until that is fixed to a reasonable level there is no use calling for Ole out after every game

No manager in world football would have taken this United this season higher than second.
As for the CB pairing, I'd love Axel to claim a spot in the first XI but whether we are in the "Ole in" or "Ole out" camp we don't see the players in training. Considering the gamble on Hendeson when we have DDG on our books as the latest example, I don't think Ole is too shy about bedding in our young players when they appear to be ready.

Nascent Stockholm Syndrome. I don't know why people keep forgetting we were top at Christmas and then lost/drew to utter drivel. But hey, yay second place. Let's buy nobody in the summer and call 4th place progress. Then sell some more of our assets next year and Europa League will be the new progress metric. This is why nothing at the club will change - fans keep pacifying themselves that nothing can change and accept whatever is given to us in our feeding bowl.

Tuchel from the start of the season and you can argue that Chelsea would be better. Liverpool without the injuries and you would think it’s a safe bet the Scouse would be better. That effectively leaves us competing with Leicester who have had their fair share of key injuries I am not convinced on progress, I lean more on being 2nd by default however you can only hope it galvanises the players, encourages the owners to allow for some spending and we try and mount a challenge next year whilst picking up some trophies too

It's about the balance sheet, not the trophy cabinet.

I suppose you're in the "Ole out" camp because that is Ole's plan and he happened to share it with you. I didn't say that anyway.
But hey, let's sack Ole, bring in an elite manager, not back him in the transfer market and then sack him in 3 seasons for not winning the league. Because this proved to be a success with the previous two

He shared it with the whole world a couple days ago in a press conference Edit: slight exaggeration on my part, but you get the idea.

Or some of us could stop living in a fantasy world in which our owners aren't leeching yank cunts who verifiably have zero interest in winning anything so long as we get European Cup money and idiot dickheads pretend finishing miles behind Manchester fucking city or Liverpool is "progress". Oh yeah, and *Ole Out*.
