Bruno will escape my wrath as he has been amazing since he came in and clearly works to a different level from everyone else. He is a leader without a doubt I'm going to come off harsh and a dick head for saying it, but Bruno crying because we lost a second rate European competition is a weak mentality. Champions league final is maybe understandable, but not this. Maybe I'm reaching, but we really do need more experience for times like this. Someone who has been there and done it. You don't come across as a dick head Chris, just wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong.  I took it as he really wanted to win something and he took it genuinely hard that we failed. Much rather that than some of the other soulless lumps. |

I don't disagree overall but Pochettino is as much a bottler as Ole so not really sure why that is a WUM comment. Not winning a one team league with PSG is a farce. He at least won a trophy though. Our fella can’t even boast that. Well, yes. Still not impressed by Poch though. |

Re the penalties not going to give Ole a pass on that. Obviously it was crazy that we ended up needing to win a penalty shootout but a good manager should be well prepared for all eventualities. Clearly some of the subs were made with penalties in mind (e.g. Mata, Telles). But a good penalty taker gives you 1 goal. A good penalty saver gives you the chance of saving more than 1 goal. And it is crap to say there is no way of knowing if Deano would have done better. His record in competitive games clearly shows he is better at saving penalties. And I am sure it would also be obvious on the training ground (that is if we actually practice penalties).
Also agree it was stupid to take Mason off and leave Rashford on. Rashford had a terrible game. Nothing to do with injuries. It was just immaturity. He couldn't handle the tactical chess game Emery drew us into playing and was trying too hard to make things happen and get involved in the game instead of keeping his cool and being patient. Ole should have given him the hairdryer and if that didn't work hauled him off.

He’s just a passionate bloke isn’t he, someone who cares. Think they get a lot of stick when people think they aren’t arsed, so if anything it’s good to see someone who is bothered. And in a way, it’s a relief to see he hadn’t gone into the game thinking it was a second rate trophy that he wasn’t chewed about winning. I love his passion and i'm absolutely not questioning that, but be angry, not sad. Maybe it's my inner Roy Keane coming out! I think he cried because he fully realised the situation at hand. |

He was a hateful racist prick but Suarez had a similar run of form with the Scouse to Bruno’s with us. He subsequently realised he would have to leave to achieve his dreams. We’re 12 months away from that I reckon, however long it takes the Spanish giants to get their act together. We’re actually blessed because if Bruno has a good Euros normally Real would be all over him. |

Anyone blaming DDG needs to give their head a wobble. That was one of the highest quality shootouts I've ever seen, the vast majority of the pens from both sides were near-unsaveable.
But more importantly, the guy was the best goalkeeper in the world for several years that were totally wasted with us. He tried to get his dream move, but when it fell through he knuckled down and gave everything he had for this club, when we really didn't deserve it based on how pathetic we were pretty much everywhere else. He's past his best, but we would have been so, so much worse off without him over the past decade.

I was thinking the same thing, except I was counting the last 5 months from January - we were giving our best title race impersonation till the end of December after all. Last five months of trash culminated in a dumpster fire. |
