Even in the dark days you looked at what Fergie achieved at Aberdeen and preached patience. Whatās Ole done? Proper achiever he was. Won the league in a country nobody gives a fuck about and relegated the club in his first actual job. Pedigree, that's what that is.

Can't find the relevant thread where my argument of the gradual overhaul of the squad, where Ole's contribution was then reduced to pure luck (Rashford maturing, Greenwood's rise, No one was in for Bruno other than us... although it was clear as daylight he'd become the best player in the league) and bad signings in the case of Maguire (even though Jose was after him too). It is there somewhere. Sorry for not being able to dig it up. Wha5 about your assertion that certain posters are saying āa toddler would win the league with what heās gotā. Note- not other managers, toddlers. It was written here yesterday. Either in the match thread or the OGS. Can't remember which one. That's not the point though, is it? It was obviously an exaggeration. Point still stands if we use the collection of posts discussing if Ole is the worst manager in the league or not on a day when Tuchel mastered 0 shots on target, Klopp conceded three against a newly-promoted side and Rodgers salvaged a point at home to Burnley.
Look, we've been through this countless times and there's evidence that back arguments of both sides of this divide. Unfortunately, the snide comment that followed my earlier post is just another example of what this place has become where there's room for only one opinion.

I don't know what other people want other than what they express on here. Sometimes you get a clue when some people join in only for post-defeat meltdowns, but are nowhere to be seen after wins. I do struggle with people who claim that Ole should deliver a real challenge in the league and/or CL, but then want him sacked even when we win and find ourselves level on points at the top. Is it really a football discussion board if we only meet here for some Ole abuse regardless of the score only a few weeks into a new season?
We had two decorated managers prior to Ole and were abysmal to watch and nowhere near challenging for the league. The same people who argued only months ago that Ole's transfer market record was as dodgy as those of his predecessors now claim that a toddler would win the league with what he's got. Match-going fans (even our away support) are mocked here for being "top reds", for disagreeing with a group of a dozen people here. What's wrong with having different opinions without resorting to name-calling and patronising one-liners?
I'm struggling to find alot of cheer in the west ham or wolves match day threads to back up your claims that we only turn up when we lose. Nobody is claiming this squad is anywhere near the finished article but it's much better than the current results would suggest. There is no perfect team in the PL, they all have issues but those teams have top coaches who have won things and proved themselves, while we continue to fumble about. Chelsea, City and Liverpool have a distinct style of play, Christ even Brentford and Brighton have that. Our team relies on individual brilliance and when it doesn't happen we are fucked. He's had 3 years to put his mark on the team and in some ways he has but his limitations are clear for all to see. Mark my words, Ole will never be successful here. By success, I mean winning trophies and not playing in the CL in consecutive seasons. I don't enjoy railing on a man who's done so much for this club and given me great memories. There's nothing enjoyable about it and not something I get a kick out of. I want the club to kick on and stop being a bunch of cowardly pricks. All those teams had more decorated managers before the season started.
There was a general agreement that Ole needs to deliver this season.
We're one point from the top with 32 games left. The meltdown is premature.
Wishing injuries on our players and wanting us to lose games are uncalled for.

There is two managers available now, Conte and Zidane, would they do better then ole? If the answer is yes then ole should already be replaced, this is Manchester United not Burnley it really is that simple. If Jose and LVG had not been here before, and were available now, you'd have said the same. Fancy going a few years back?

Agree with this in that it's early days, my concern however, especially after yesterday is of the 8 games we've played so far this season we've looked good in one of them (Leeds). The others we've scraped through and weve not played any of the top sides yet. Need to find that 2nd gear and quickly. Hastly I though the first half was ok yesterday, thought we made our chances, we just didn't take any of them. The 2nd half however was horrendous. It was a complete mess. Doesn't bode well for the next 5 league games which are all against top sides. I want to try and focus on any positives but what worries me is we've signed Ronaldo and Sancho and we've got worse in attack.

To sit one point of the top, having been pretty average so far, is not the end of the world. Maybe playing the better sides will get the extra gear from us. Oleās record against those top managers has not been that bad, but our players need to show up. Itās not ALL on the manager. Sancho has been underwhelming so far, unfortunately. Still, considering only the scouse have scored more than we have so far in the league weāve been lucky to have young individual brilliance in the side.

Being pretty average with Bruno, ronaldo, Sancho, pogba and Greenwood is completely unacceptable. Worst still the manager has no idea how to make us look like a cohesive unit. We missed out last season because we were conditioned to thinking 2nd was progress, the scousers had some darn bad injuries and they didnāt finish too far behind us! We couldnāt beat Villarreal on the big stage!
Ole is taking us nowhere fast, his time is up regardless of what he does midweek. His management style is too yo-yo for us to win anything.

You are right regarding the snide comments here , i was one of the "ole not yet out" member here , but from the europa final loss to now I think its time to pull the plug on this experiment. He has done some things better than Jose and LVG , squad is so much better now and we generally play football much easier on the eye. But we still have no trophies (even a league cup). That match against young boys , the way we folded completely when we lost one man against an average team was upto to the manager imo. That should not be happening to a United team. We still struggle against low block even with all the quality we have. Also we have a reasonably good squad right now but pogba is going to leave next season, Cavani is going to leave, Ronaldo is going to be 37. Which means we will need a striker , creative midfielder and a DM , and with glazers in charge that will be another 3 years of monitoring players and 'rebuild'. I think someone like Conte will give us better chance of winning the league with our current squad this season or at least in next season.

What is the evidence in favour of not sacking him please?

What is the evidence in favour of not sacking him please? Iām curious on about this too. And in a positive way, not snide. Iām genuinely curious what people who want him to stay see. For me heās steadied the ship, heās brought in some very good players and has built the nucleus of a fine side. But Iāve seen little or no evidence to see how he can take us any further really. Not being as much of a dick as Jose and not boring us to tears like Van Gaal only goes so far. Weāre in grave danger of wasting the prime years of Fernandes and Varane, not to mention Ronaldo. To be fair, he should never have been given the full time job, he was only supposed to take us over for a few months but Woodward got excited after that win in Paris. Because heās a fucking idiot.

I didnāt enjoy the Villa match either, but weāre only a point off the pace. After midweek, we could be in good shape in the CL group. Sacking him now seems premature. But I do want to see him do something new in the midfield.
Question: What if we had won the shootout against Villarreal and Ole had gotten us a trophy? Would people be ok with giving him more time? I suspect not, and that the āno trophiesā talking point is just that.

And the vitriolic hatred directed at Ole on here is kind of alarming. People talk about him like he is Moyes.
