His continued employment is something else even by the Glazers low standards.

Already throwing in the injuries excuse. Yes we have injuries but that cannot be an excuse for the lack of progress in near 3 years. All our attackers are fit. Mount, shaw and Malacia at this point should not be a topic of conversation because they are either consistently injured or have been out a long time (Malacia).
I went from liking ETH, to feeling sorry for him to now just being desperate to see him leave. The Amad situation is mental, completely mental.
I remember Pogba deciding to leave because he saw Rio playing in midfield instead of being given a chance, Amad has just seen a RB play as a 10 when he is far more capable in that role, then you throw in Antony getting on the pith ahead of him when we know the guy is absolutely over his head at our club.
INEOS need to swallow the L, whatever their reasons, it was wrong to keep this bluffer as manager

Survival talk just like his football. A less exciting Ole ball.

Just makes the Maz decision even worse, which scarcely seems possible…

What is just as perplexing as ETH's "management" is the weird rump of ETH "remainers", like some weird death cult.

[Sky Sports News on X] "I deny and ignore that Spurs game because the red card was overturned"
Erik ten Hag says he totally ignores the 3-0 defeat to Tottenham because of the Bruno Fernandes red card and fact it was overturned.
Tin foil hat mode now.

Talks of xavi being the main target and a meeting taking place last week, I can see that having some legs and pushing for him, I think a loss this weekend and that could be that for Erik.

Tin foil hat mode now. Yeah he's gone full loon pot now, he's backed in to a corner and just spouting bollox, I really wanted him to succeed and I was buzzing when we got him but this job has clearly proved well to big for him.

It seems pretty clear that INEOS aren't going to sack Erik until they've lined up a suitable replacement.
But that isn't going to be easy. Top managers are going to have major reservations especially as they won't have control over transfers. Ambitious managers aren't going to want to commit in case a more attractive job opening becomes available in the summer.
I also don't think INEOS are going to want to go down the caretaker manager route. If they did I think he'd have been sacked by now.
This season is a write off anyway. Our squad isn't good enough to finish top 4 even with a competent manager. And if we finish midtable and do not qualify for Europe it will make it a lot easier for the next manager to spend more time on the training ground and focus on the Premier League.
It will also mean that we can focus on strengthening the first team as with fewer games next season injuries should be much less of a problem (although I suspect that Erik's training methods and tactics are a huge factor in our recurring injury crises).
And I would much rather they take their time and interview everyone multiple times and choose the best person available and interested in the job than a panic appointment to try and salvage a season that is probably unsalvageable.
And a midtable finish would also make INEOS realize that they need to spend big and spend well to get us out of the hole and be a lot more ruthless when it comes to player sales

Yeah I'd 100% go for it and all you can hope is that he can bring some kind of identity with him for us, because we are just being served absolute slop at the minute.

What is just as perplexing as ETH's "management" is the weird rump of ETH "remainers", like some weird death cult. Some are just not sure, based on previous experience, that switching the manager is the answer.

He could just be saying that he doesn’t put much stock in the result given the erroneous red card ruined the game. Not a controversial statement. I understand people want him gone, but that doesn’t mean we have to pile on everything he says.

No it's a load of shite what he's saying, if we was playing well winning games and fighting for the league and this was a one of result then it might have some merit, but we have been absolute tosh pretty much for 2 and a half seasons now, Bruno's red card rightly or wrongly doesn't change that fact, and we was getting beat before he got sent of anyway.
