This next appointment will be INEOS's biggest yet. Ruud for the next few games and then ideally someone who can come in and Ruud can work under again. We cannot end up with another Ole situation if he has a good run of results (which I don't think we will with those in charge now).Absolutely this. But you know what our fanbase is like. I can’t see Berrada shitting the bed like Woodward did.

Xavi is most likely to get the job, but now that i think about it he may not be the right person.
Barca have always been in top 3 of Laliga , he knew the club inside out and they had some fantastic talents ready to step up.
We are nothing like that at the moment.

I think the process of what we did in getting ETH was right. We looked to try to get someone who was on their way up. Rather than going for yesterday’s man again. It hasn’t worked out, but I don’t think we should be put off from trying this again. Especially when there’s not a top notch option out there now.

The majority of clubs stumble across a great manager. Even after the takeover City had to kiss a few frogs to get to Pep. I wouldn’t be disappointed with Xavi. He’s won La Liga against a decent Madrid and he’s a big name regardless. He’s probably the best option right now.

I think as long as they do their due diligence and not rush the next one in because of their name, I will be ok with it.... unless it's Southgate. Any sensible United supporter would say fuck hiring that guy. Xavi seems like a reasonable choice from the standpoint of he has played and coached at one of the biggest clubs in the world that also gets immense pressure from the supporter base when they don't perform. None of that will be a shock to him if he comes here.

Long overdue, contract extension kind of sums up where we are as a club.
Don’t really have an opinion on who we bring in. Would love us to try and tempt away Alonso but that’s probably a long shot. Xaxi at least knows how to manage a big club and has that pedigree. I like many of you aren’t exactly excited by the prospect of south gate as i think he lacks that killer instinct. That being said the one thing southgate is good at is developing a system and creating squad harmony. For that piece only I don’t think he would be the end of the world.

Worth starting a 'whose next' thread? Anyone fancy doing one?

Xavi will not come here. Tuchel refused to come here. They see what goes on and want no part of it.

What they did get right was the structure and dumping the donkeys for a world class squad. The complete opposite to us.

Whoever is next needs to be a 'control the game', possession based manager. Under Ten Hag there were few games when we actually controlled games from start to finish and seen games out when we did go in front. You look at all the top teams and all them can control a games tempo, especially in the middle of the park. Under Ten Hag, there was no calm.
My first thoughts were Xavi, but any manager with possession in the forefront of their style needs to be at the top of the list.

Honestly? I’m sad it had to come to this. ETH’s Ajax was awesome and I really hoped he’ll be the man to bring us back to the top.
Maybe this is overly simplistic, but in my opinion transfer decisions are what ultimately cost him the job. If the money we spent on Antony, Onana, and Mount was used better, we would’ve been in a far better state right now.
