Erik got the tactics and team selection wrong. That is for sure. But while it hurts like hell to get stuffed by City even if we also lose the reverse fixture it won't be season defining. We've won 2 out of 3 big games this season which is a huge improvement on Ole's record. Obviously it is early days as well. He's only had one transfer window. Casemiro isn't integrated into the squad. Ronaldo missed pre-season and has been frozen out. Malacia and Martinez and Antony are in their first season in the Premier League coming from the Dutch League. We are still using Ole-ball because it will take time (and probably a few more new additions) for Erik to get us passing and pressing effectively. true i said before citys first goal that they will piss this league and we tried to go toe to toe with them and got found out. Haarland is going to destroy most defences so a bit of a spanking here won’t define our season Dust ourselves down and move on

Not many teams will score 3 against City this season (a starving man will take any crumbs on offer!)

Hopefully this is a lesson for TH going forward. I'm not expecting him to get it right everytime, expectation wasn't within one window.
But calling for his job already is fucking moronic.

Many of our fans would’ve called for Klopp’s head had he endured a first season like the one he had at Liverpool. In my opinion, ETH is the first right appointment post Fergie (when looking at when we hired him and his career trajectory). He’s going to need a lot more than one transfer window to fix the mess he inherited.

Big game player, massive quality, why is he benched for such a game.

He had a total of 7 competitive matches. We still need to get a CM , striker and a GK to even start playing the way he wants us. ETH has proven he can learn from his mistakes (Maguire) , so lets give him some more time before calling for his job.

I'd prefer we'd played better and Ten Hag has to answer some of the critics with his selection but as I said before the match yesterday, whatever the result, it won't impact our season. We were never in the title race, our aim this season has to be to win a trophy and get back into the Champions League.
Ten Hag has not been perfect, he bares responsibility for the opening two games and yesterday but there's much from him I've been encouraged by and I expect he'll right the wrongs of yesterday pretty swiftly.

Plus he didn't have a proper preseason with most of signings due to the club being 100% focused on chasing a player who didn't want to leave Barcelona which ended up with 2 signings only arriving after the season had already started.

Also, our best players this season have all been his buys so he clearly needs to be trusted and backed with more signings.

He's been humped 4 and 6 in the space of seven league games. How moronically shit are your standards if you aren't questioning him?

Just how shit does it have to be for people to be allowed to question if ten Hag just hasn't got it?

I get Bestie's frustration but also get the optimism or realistic view others are taking on things.
ETH does have to get his selection right and be quicker on the subs. Yesterday's game especially as it was away called for one of Bruno or Eriksen to start, having the 2 was risky more especially as we don't really play pressing possession football. Casemiro should have started 100%, and hopefully will now start playing from the onset in games.
RB needed, Dalot will need strong competition. We need another CB, we need another CM, we need a center forward. We need all of them in January. Happy to wait until the summer for the wing positions to be assesed.
Rather than ETH be told we can't spend in January, i suggest Murtough do the job he is overpaid and under qualified for. Get AWB, Williams, Lindelof, Maguire, Donny, Ronaldo (just end the pain) out the door in January. No loans, permanent sales. Raise money for the manager to get some proper players in

He's been humped 4 and 6 in the space of eight games. How moronically shit are your standards if you aren't questioning him? Who said I'm not questioning him? I've criticised some of his decisions so far, I think we all have but I'm not gonna call for his head after only 7 games, thats just mental. We all knew it would take a few windows for him to get where he needs to get. Everyones standards should be high but we also should be expecting miracles. There's been some bad and some good so far this season so I'll see how it ends before I make any rash calls. Let's see what changes he makes for the Everton game. Eithr way I expect a reply to yesterday just like we did after the Brenford game.
