Maguire may well be the most maligned United player of all time, any attempt to use him as an example in this Ronaldo situation is ridiculous. Forget Maguire. He is a self-interested cunt who happens to be shit at football at the same time. You want to talk about 'disrespect'? Why wasn't Rashford run out of the club for literally telling United supporters to fuck off. Is that an acceptable example? What about Luke Shaw crying off 'injured' every time a new Call of Duty comes out? Or players leaking grievances about the manager? Are those acceptable comparisons?

Actually think this is a huge moment for Ten Hag, makes it clear who is in charge and if Ronaldo isn't immune from punishment, nobody is.
Feels like we have someone actually in charge for the first time since Mourinho's first season.

Again I think they're two players who have also received their fair share of criticism though. There was literally a strong debate here a couple of weeks ago between Rashford supporters and those who think he's still not up to scratch; whilst Shaw is always heavily criticised whenever he goes from looking like one of the best LBs in the world to barely running 10 yards in a match.

Just hold them accountable for their own actions. You could make an argument for half of the players but there really is no need to. The fact is this instant is about Ronaldo and nobody else. He acted like a petulant child and has been dealt with accordingly. Credit has to go to TH for that. We wanted a manager with a set of balls and it seems like we have that.

Ronaldo made a mistake, at least he wasn’t coasting for the last 12 months or running to his PR to excuse his performances as some of our players have..
Now that’s disrespect.

Ronaldo is on a huge salary and is a representative of the club so obviously has to stay professional and not show his frustration so visibly.
But in his defence
-He was bullied into joining the club when City were clearly a far better prospect of winning trophies and would have allowed him to score goals -Despite almost everyone downing tools he did his job last season and scored 24 goals and almost singlehandedly got us through the Champions League Group stages and his goals in the EPL got us Europa League football which at least gives us another route to CL qualification -He wanted to leave in the summer and as usual the Glazers priced him out of a move probably because they wanted the commercial revenue he generates. -To go from regular starter to a bit part role just because he missed pre-season and Erik took a fancy to Rashford and Martial is humiliating for a player with his record. If Erik didn't see Ronaldo fitting into his plans he should have pushed harder for the Glazers to sanction an exit and signed a proper CF instead of Antony. -Giving him zero minutes against City, hauling him off against Newcastle when the service was at fault, and not giving him any minutes against Tottenham was humiliating for him -By all accounts despite his desire to leave and unhappiness he is not stirring things up in the dressing room the way a lot of other players were last season. We are playing a lot better this season which doesn't really rhyme with this theory that his presence at the club is having a negative effect on team morale etc.

The only difference between Maguire and Ronaldo is that the unprofessionalism wasn’t off the pitch.
One wasn’t welcomed back with open arms though.

A mistake? 🤦♂️ Guess you missed the whole saga during pre season with his agent about a move away then. Did he come out and publicly state it was untrue? No he carried it on and let the rumours continue. If that's not disrespect I don't know what is. Funny how excuses get made for some players behaviour whilst with others get destroyed for it.

CR7 wanted to leave in the Summer, the Glazers wanted the shirt sales.
I know who I'm blaming for more negativity around the club & yet another huge PR disaster, certainly not CR7.

This all stems from the Glazers not allowing him to leave in the first place despite him having offers in the summer. Roy Keane said as much . ETH was happy to go along with this. You think if the Glazers still wanted him now ETH would have been allowed to do this ?

I'm saying his agent trying to get him a move away was all public and he did nothing to address those rumours at the time. In fact he announced he would address the rumours a few weeks later during an interview he was going to do as if it was some sort of game. Just circulating more will he/ won't he rumours.

Ronaldo spent the entire summer openly trying to leave the club. He only stayed because there were literally zero takers. And what, he’s the victim of a witch hunt? Please. The other night was a culmination of his clear desire to get the fuck out of Utd. It wasn’t a ‘mistake’, it was him using his final card to force an exit. Which he will hopefully now get.

Haven't really seen anybody outside of those that question Rashford/Shaw screamingly demand they are booted out of the club. Don't remember people screaming bloody murder at that pair to be offloaded in the next transfer window and neither combined have done as much for this club as Ronaldo has. Or in football in general. That discussion only distracts from the real point though, which is that the levels of disrespect and vitriol directed towards Ronaldo are sickening.
