Quite frankly NO top manager should be expected to work with MCT, Fred, quarter fit martial, Weghorst, Maguire, lindelof, DVB, Jones, telles and bailly.
Those names have no business in a top club. I am beyond the whole ‘manager should get more out’ the reality is a few managers have tried and the result has been woeful.
The players are not good enough for this level.
We need to prune the weeds in the garden and fast.
If top 4 were locked in, I’d drop those names that are currently at the club, tell their agents, go find them another club we won’t subsidise wages but happy to take a hit on the transfer fee.
For that to happen we need the Qatar money and fast.
Sir Jim will not do it, glazers won’t do it and minority investment from any mug won’t cut it.

Around this time last year Ralfy said that the club needed “open heart surgery” it’s crystal clear that the ‘patient’ is obviously still critical.
What worries me is that the status quo will be maintained ,the GIMPS will stay,they’ll be little in the way of player investment,and ETH will (rightly fuck-the-fuck off !

Maguire is still in the first team squad.
Maguire is still Captain.
I said last summer that was the first strike. The board would have had some job justifying turning down Maguire bids if ten Hag had said the player will never play. They were happy to tear up Ronaldo's 450+k contract when the manager forced him out of the club for them. I get your point on him being captain but with his first season in charge and while still under the glazers he was never going to be able to replace 6-7 players in one window and would need players he knew where shit(like Maguire)onboard until he can shift them. Dont forget when varane and licha are fit Maguire is benched. ronaldo is different because he wanted out and ETH wanted him out. When the new owners come in he should be able to shift all the shit within 1 or 2 summer windows. Keep Bailly, sign Martinez, tell the board they have to sell Maguire because Maguire is no longer Captain or ever playing. We did not need 6-7 players to fix that situation. The strongest position ten Hag will ever be in as manager was his first transfer window. What we got was outright lying about Maguire and taking the piss out of Ronaldo. Fucking pathetic. The Ronaldo issue is not different because if ten Hag had handled it properly we would have had Cristiano Ronaldo for a last season instead of Wout Fucking Weghorst. I have said before that if ten Hag wants to come out with such utter shite, he needs to win things. Well we bottled the title challenge and we've bottled Europe. The League Cup is nice but it is bottom tier. |

Sancho is approaching Lingard levels of uselessness. Actually at this point of time i think Lingard will offer more. Only 'positive' is we didn't give him the number 7 and embarrass ourselves again. Lingard has done more for us than the invisible man has . Just sell. |

To try and put it all on ETH is really not on because everyone dropped the ball.
Fast forward we are where we are.
I think we all know Murtough can’t sell, the owners have no money and therefore we have the garbage we have.
I don’t expect any manager to single out players and say they are crap, I also don’t expect a manager to try and sell garbage to me as gold.
ETH is going nowhere, I will support that but will also call out his mistakes (he has made a few and some mind boggling).
Keeping Maguire as captain knowing he was not going to start was just bad bad bad and really that matter should have been put to bed in the summer.
The mess we are in today has been years in the making so really I can’t put it all on a man that has been around about 10 months, quite frankly without ETH we might be in about 11th place

That was wank, but still it's the same issues and the same players causing these problems,but this all stems from the same place, the shite in the boardroom, from sanctioning shit buys and giving out ridiculous wages, if Qatar buy us this year and we scrape top four we will be absolutely fine going forward I have no doubt about that, but if those rats stay we might as well just call it a day.
I think it was stew that said it a few posts Back in January we was in the hunt for all four cups, any decent owners add to that squad and we probably walk away with atleast two off the cups, but we havnt got decent owners and this is the outcome, the same outcome year after year.
