Can we stop with with this purple patch shit ffs, its completely unnecessary after the season he's had. He's allowed to have quiet games. It's others around him that need to step up when this happens and they're not. He's been one our best players this season and wouldnt be in the position we're in without him. People need to stop waiting for him to have a poor game just so they can go back to twisting the knife again. Ronaldo had that season. Our fans went in two footed though because he said some upsetting truths about some of our players along with the Glazers. Thats not the reason people went in two footed on him at all, far from it but I'm not getting into the Ronaldo shit again, neither situation are the same. Its happened a lot this season with this fanbase. He has a good game and they say nothing, he has a poor game and they're back out with the pitch forks. Never known a fanbase like it to go in on their own players that don't actually deserve it. People wanted Rashford to turn a corner and improve, he's done that and for the majority of this season aswell but still isn't good enough.

Never replaced Lukaku. Only loan signings since. Disgusting! But we have spent a fortune on wide attacking players, who are overrated and not really producing. I think we have to be honest about that too Antony has what 3/4 goals in the league and 1 assist and Sancho is about the same. We also bought Dan James and Martial is a fucking waste of space. Martial, Antony, Sancho all cost a combined 230M You have to give Antony credit for other work he does and gives balance etc, but he is hardly the most creative right winger or reliable with chances, at the moment at least when you compare him to other top teams with a front 3. Sancho is just awful and I can't stand Martial. You can't have a player like that in your squad as a senior forward and expect be competing at the top level. Weghorst is just a joke. We are in limbo as a club waiting on the scumbags to squeeze as much out of new owners and we we're walking into a fight for top 4, when we should have been done by now. It's adding to the frustration. I can't be bothered though getting worked up by all the shit that has gone on in the past 10 years at this stage. The new owners will have to put in a new structure for running the club and the recruitment, hopefully setting a new standard of excellence. There's no enjoyment watching that team right now. It's like wake me up when it's sold and we know who the new owners are!

We’d be battling relegation if Rashford didn’t have a good season.

We seem to be particularly good at producing wide attacking players from the youth system! Greenwood( yeah i know, but in terms of quality we are producing), Rashford and Garnacho. The lad at Sunderland looks like he has something and Pellistri.
Yet we go out and overspend on wide players?? when we should have been spending it on top strikers still in their prime to complement them! 9 years after Fergie left and Carrick and Scholes moved on we hadn't bought a single decent central mid at the level required until this year!
It's been shite, but hopefully it's over soon

We’d be battling relegation if Rashford didn’t have a good season. Maybe not but we’d be well behind Brighton and Villa.

May not be accurate as it’s from twitter, but we’ve supposedly missed 83% of our ‘big chances’ this season. Makes you wonder how we’ve done as well as we have if it is. Even after Rashford’s purple patch, I still don’t have full confidence/expectation that any of our forwards will finish off a chance. What 'season'? He didn't really score before the World Cup and he hasn't really performed for weeks. I'm sick of people trying to pretend a good run of form is anything more with fuck all evidence to prove otherwise. Those 'waiting for a poor game' aren't having to wait long these days are they. Rashford should get plenty of credit for the purple patch (that is what it was) and he had earned himself a bit of leeway but, again, nobody in this squad should be above scrutiny or be held to different minimum expectations.

Rashford 2 goals in the his last 10 Premier League games. And scored just 1 away PL goal in practically 3 months.

Reality is we haven't really moved on much from relying on key players. When Rashford and Bruno were in great form Ole was finishing top 4. And that was with McFred in midfield and Maguire and Lindelof in defence. And when Casemiro has the rare bad game our midfield turns to crap again.
What we need to achieve under Erik is to create a team that is greater than the sum of the parts. And we are miles away from that. It is still mostly crap team performances papered over by strong performances from Casemiro, goals from Rashford, assists from Bruno/Eriksen and good defending by Varane/Martinez and of course Dave saves.
And if any of the above are lacking then we suddenly become easily beatable.

Rashford 2 goals in the his last 10 Premier League games. And scored just 1 away PL goal in practically 3 months. And we have Martial, Weghorst, Antony and Sancho who have done even less than that. Over the course of the season only 2 players have scored more goals in Europe and still people can only focus on the negative (not aimed at this particular post btw). He's played a lot of football aswell this season which is currently and undoubtedly starting to take its toll.

As for that last point, 'Professional footballer plays a lot of football'. Bless him.

Mourinho knew Martial and Rashford were unreliable. That was 5 years ago.
