It is ridiculous how unfair people are to Ronaldo. He scored 24 goals in the first full season when he returned to the club in a season when basically everyone else downed tools. His 6 goals in the Champions League got us to the top of the group. And his Premier League goals got us Europa League football which is a pretty incredible achievement when you consider how bad the rest of the team was.
Bruno scored more goals that season than he did last season so the argument Ronaldo was somehow preventing others from scoring doesn't fly. It was Rashford who let the side down only managing 5 goals that season and while injuries may have contributed somewhat his attitude stank and he's never been a consistent goal scorer. And as has been pointed out there is no Ronaldo to blame for our lack of goals from our forward line this season.
All people seem to remember is the last few months of Ronaldo's time here. Yes Ronaldo was out of line. But it was clear from the start that he wasn't central to Erik's plans and Erik preferred Martial and Rashford upfront and was annoyed with Ronaldo for skipping pre-season and making it clear he wanted to leave in the summer. Ronaldo in turn felt hurt because he felt the club wasn't supportive enough during a difficult time for him and his family during which he understandably wasn't prepared to fly to the corners of the earth selling shirts for us in meaningless friendlies. Perhaps in part a result of his unhappiness his performances were poor in the final months but poor performances do not seem to have resulted in Rashford or Antony getting dropped this season. And as Paul suggested he was probably also fed up after a trying season in which he was keeping the club above water and was clearly frustrated with the lack of standards of everyone around him. Erik arrived and everyone was given a second chance but he was tossed aside and humiliated by being given 5 minute cameos.
Anyway it is ancient history. Ronaldo isn't here to blame. And the screenshot above showing how few goals our forwards have managed in the Premier League this season is absolutely shocking and reflects badly on the players concerned but also the manager.

Again, why are people still talking about Ronaldo?

He's in cuckoo land and on par with Ole for some of the shit he's coming out with. Would happily see the back of him now as we're literally going backwards.

"On the way up" .. did he saw the part where we left the best striker on planet completely free in the box to score that second goal.
I will have more time for ETH if he starts dropping these under performing losers.
edit: Sorry but just saw this , so Ten Hag actually benched Varane for Maguire and Evans as a tactical decision, what the actual f**k !?. I thought Varane is injured as usual

I don't want ETH sacked because I think he is a tactical genius or the team/players are improving or I can see what he is trying to do or he has bought well. I don't want him sacked because it just means the cycle continues. Completely the wrong reason to keep a manager and says alot about the mess.
Injuries are not an excuse to abandon or not have a style of play implemented. The glazers are not a reason to not a style of play implemented. ETH has had some serious cash spent, granted he is not the negotiator but that money has not been spent wisely.
We made a HUGE mistake getting rid of Rangnick, he had it completely right in regards to what was needed to try and get matters on the pitch turned around, he was the competent Sporting director/DOF we needed provided he was completely backed to clearout at all costs.
This season has been an absolute embarrassment, no point naming names as it's clear for all to see, the manager has to start showing something with the players, no more excuses, establish a style of play and start winning some games.

Part of me wanted to see him go 5 at the back yesterday. Not necessarily because I love the formation, but because it would at least show he’s thinking about what he’s doing.
Same formation every week with largely the same players despite being in dreadful form all season. He doesn’t look out of ideas, he’s looking like he barely had an idea in the first place.

The formation is probably the only thing he has stayed true to in terms of playing style. He genuinely looks and sounds rattled. The regression is incredible. Bruno is no RW, I hate to say it but he is our most creative player, we are struggling for goals. Go 4231 and play him as a 10, Mount is the man you pushed so hard for, get him RW because Antony is complete and utter garbage. Rashford has to be dropped, tell him whatever you need to tell him to spin it, then tell Garnacho, I am playing you for the next 3 games, make that position yours!

If he said this then I am so confused. The club approached you because of your work at Ajax. They liked the style and winning, that is a massive part of what they want at Manchester United. In regards to players, what the heck? Onana, Martinez, Malacia, Casemiro, Mount, Amrabat, Hojlund, Antony, why were they brought in if not to get us playing similar or better than Ajax?
Ten Hag when asked when he will be able to play the same football with #mufc that he showed with Ajax?“Never. We will never play that football. Because those were different players. This is also not why I came here. We are playing different football than I showed at Ajax because I have to, because I can't play the same way.”[@theeuropeanlad]

Keep saying it but I'd love to see what they do at Carrington. The entire coaching set up needs to be replaced because they're stealing a living atm.
They can't work on tactics because they still have no style of football or work within a system. Just stood there waiting for the ball to come to them instead of finding space or just lumping balls in over the top.
They can't work on fitness because half of them barely move, especially off the ball.
None of our attacking players are scoring and we are complete dogshit at set pieces so we clearly don't work on anything offensive either.
As soon as teams come at us we lose any shape we had to begin with, our fullbacks 90% of the time are out of position and we give players far too much space around the box.
Noticed yesterday Maguire was going up to the ref to sort shit out, shit that Bruno should have been doing. He isn't a captain and needs to lose the armband which atm is becoming a bit of a curse for whoever wears it.

Erik's stubbornness is going to cost him his job. He talks a lot about playing from the back, controlling games and pressing from the front. But it isn't something you can do half-assed.
We need to build the team around Hojlund and start giving him some proper service. Pushing Bruno further forward and playing Mount on the right and Garnacho on the left would help with that.
Might also be worth trying a 5-3-2 once we get some full backs fit as Dalot and Reguilon/Shaw are good getting forward and try a Rashford Hojlund pairing upfront.
We also need to find the right balance in central midfield. Play either Mainoo or Hannibal alongside either Casemiro or Amrabat. Scotty is too limited to play in central midfield and is best used as an impact sub in a number 10 role similar to how they use him for Scotland.
Forget the slow build up play and focus on moving the ball around quickly and playing at a high tempo. There isn't much we can do about our defence with all the injuries but focus on keeping our organisation and shape especially when we lose the ball and make use of our ability on the counter.

One of the few things I agree with Gary Neville on from yesterday is that the manager has been given too much power. This is likely a consequence of having no one in a position of authority that understands football or has high standards.
Eliminate the issue of managers coming in and having the excuse that it's not their team but setting the tone from the interview stage. This is how we want to play, this is how we scout etc, we give you options and you pick. That way you always have the right players for your style and it's more a coaching issue.
Our situation is just pathetic and so archaic it's unbelievable.
