Happy to call out and criticize ETH, his selection, in-game management etc, but I'm absolutely not calling for him to be sacked at this point in time.

Also, Fernandes is not captain mettle. Not one single fiber of his being says captain. No captains in the team. Casemiro off form and English is non existent. Varane needs to focus on being fit I am not sure who else there is to take it or wants it. Just not sure how we assess characters anymore |

11 goals this season and just 1 goal and 1 assist from the front players. That's less than half of all seven clubs above us in the table and 5 less than the 2 below us. He has to change that above all else, because it's not working. They are terrible at both creating and holding the ball up or pressing. Rashford and Antony always look to cut in and the full backs just aren't there currently.
Mount played a lot for Chelsea in a front three on the left and he can play on the right. Rashford can be put out to the right, where he can get around players and provide and cut in less or they can switch during the game! That may work better from the start at least with Hojlund up front. He needs to get the full backs forward too and the Lindelof thing is a joke.
He needs to try something like that against Newcastle, because this shit is not working.

Erik should be on thin ice. If we had a competent DOF Erik would be in his office receiving a stern warning and being asked to explain himself and present a plan to turnaround our performances. Meetings should also be arranged with senior players to get the full picture as to what tactical instructions and coaching Erik is actually giving the squad.
Unfortunately Arnold thinks we are making progress. Murtough and Fletcher apparently want to give Erik time and have confidence that the new signings will come good. And our senior players are too spineless to stand up to Erik and force him to make change and correct our course. Instead they will eventually just down tools completely and it will be curtains for Erik. He will lose his job. Players will continue to pick up their fat pay checks and get a free ride until the next manager comes along.

I hate the Glazers as much as the next guy and hope they perish slowly in an unfortunate schmelting accident, but can we honestly say they haven't spent money on new managers / players?
I know there isn't an easy answer to this question, but what are your top 3 reasons for the 'performance' we saw on the pitch yesterday?
Again, this isn't a wind up. Genuinely want to understand where the fuck we even start with this club.

They keep throwing money at people who don't know what they're doing. They can afford to be this cavalier because it ain't there money and they still get the usual blood money each and every year. If they had any sense they'd have a similar setup as city or Liverpool but for some reason they've never actually done that. I believe they don't want top people because top people will demand the kind of power they don't want to forego, just look at the shitfest with Radcliffe. Media reports already indicate that he's getting fucked off with them because they want final say on everything despite Radcliffe giving them billions for a stake, fucking sharks. These guys have inherited everything in life and its very obvious with all the yes men and obedient management they hire. There solution is spend big and hope the fans buy it and hope it gets us 4th, thats it really. Thinking long term is an alien concept. In any other walk of live these guys would be bankrupt or working on QVC. Part of me thinks that if their dad was still around he wouldn't have allowed them to destroy the club like this because that's what they've done. I'm 39 now and I'm blessed to have seen the good times but I don't expect us to be a force for quite sometime. Even if they leave, the damage they've done will take years to fix. The club needs bleached. |

There was a time last season where it seemed like we were witnessing a style of play, defined roles for players and even when Eriksen got hurt we didn’t reinvent the wheel. Fred stepped up. And then it slowly crumbled. ETH has gotten his targets, and there is zero identity. It’s shambolic, we don’t do anything well.
