We aren't catching Tottenham and Aston Villa and Newcastle and Chelsea are both finding form so can see them finishing above us. That will leave us in 8th place which would be our worst ever Premier League finish.
And the players haven't even properly downed tools! Although I expect that will happen in the coming games as players figure out that Erik is a goner and they have nothing left to play for except pride in the shirt which few of them have.
Oh and we've lost 12 Premier League games already. Same as Moyes in his first and last season and the Ole/Rangnick season in which the players downed tools and never picked them up and Ronaldo almost singlehandedly kept us from finishing bottom half of the table. So with 6 games to play that is a record we are definitely going to break.....most Premier League games lost in a single season.
Our Champions League campaign was also as bad as I can ever remember.

Definitely interesting but not sure that the high risk approach works well in the PL… But maybe that’s more to do with the players at his disposal… I wouldn’t be against his appointment but he would need to be well backed…

Hearing that we are being linked to Thiago Motta of Bolgna who are doing really well…
Apparently plays 2-7-2!!!!

Apparently SJR is leaning towards someone like Conte or Tuchel figuring their experience will be useful to us as we transition under INEOS. Presumably the idea then is a few years later once our recruitment setup has improved and we've upgraded the squad we will be in better shape for a modern progressive manager to take over.
Any manager who takes over the current squad and expects them to play from the back and press and keep possession is going to be very disappointed.

I can understand the logic but I so don’t fancy the‘style’ of football…

I watched Southampton again last night, Russell Martin has got them playing some great football, one to keep an eye on for the future, although i'd take him over Erik at the moment, at least he looks like he has s system and players know what they're doing!

McKenna is the one from the Championship to watch. Ipswich play superb football.

Oh i agree, i've watched plenty of their games too, try to catch Borough when i can as well, hoping Carrick and McKenna continue to do well, big season for Carrick next year to see if they can push on again. Still wouldn't discount Martin though, all 3 could have decent futures ahead.

These names would be eaten alive here. This is the wrong time to prioritise experimental appointments for novices. A transitional appointment might be the best way forward. Kick a few pampered arses while you’re at it.

Worse record than Moyes at this stage of the season. Mitigating that Moyes took over the actual previous champions, but that's still pretty damning be fair, Moyes didn't last a season and ETH is in his 2nd.

No one is saying appoint them now but worth keeping an eye on that is all, but like i said, i bet anyone of them could bring better structure to our play than Erik has managed!
