There seems a real possibility of Tuchel and Ten Hag swapping clubs. Cant be that all the ones that have come to us are shit? Been in this rinse and repeat cycle. Recruitment is the problem for me. I dont think there is anyone out there that is any better. The fact that Bayern are looking at him shows that they believe there is something rotten in our system.
The system is changing, I think we still need a year with him under the new system.
Let's be real, the signing last season have under performed. Mount is always injured, Amrabat was only cause we got no cash, and Hojlund is young. I am still jury's out on Onana, sure he cost us the Champions League but he has improved. Let's not forget this team has record conceded shots. If you look at the goals prevented chart, you'll be surprised who is up there. Surely having a shit defense is affecting his game. He was great for Inter with a solid and consistent back four. I am not sure why everyone keeps jumping on him as our worst signing? I just believe he is getting more stick cause of the way United treated De Gea.
Eriksen and Casemiro were great last season but these are typical United signings, Glazer types. They lost their legs. Malacia is constantly injured. We sold our only other left back and I wonder if again that was from on top to free up funds?
Sorry to be on the defensive, but I think enough is enough with the manager merry go round. If any of you think Tuchel is going to sort this mess, not sure what you must be thinking. He failed at Bayern and Chelsea. What makes him a success at a dysfunctional club like United? Please tell me. Hoping will bring us right back here next season.

If Conte and Turtle are the names being mentioned then fuck it and give it back to Jose or Ole.

If the issues this season were limited to poor recruitment and injuries then I'd also be in favour of giving Erik another season. But his tactics and team selections are incomprehensible and we look like a disorganised mess with little evidence of effective coaching and he's been given enough time to make his mark on the team and he's failed badly in this respect.
Unfair to say Tuchel failed at Bayern and Chelsea. Taking over a shambolic team badly coached by Lampard he won Chelsea the Champions League within 6 months beating City in the final and reached the FA Cup final. The next season he got them to 2 domestic cup finals losing both on penalties against Liverpool. He left Chelsea with a win percentage of 60% only bettered by Mourinho, Conte and Ancelotti. He also finished top 4 the two seasons he finished with them. Bayern is a difficult job as they are a team on the decline with a lot of player power and internal politics and when you've been spoilt by success it can be difficult for a new manager to come in and make changes.
As I said he is widely acknowledged by his peers to be one of the best coaches in the world. He's got a lot of big club experience and a lot of Premier League experience. He's good in the cups which are going to be our only hope of trophies in the coming seasons. He is very good at preparing and organizing teams with meticulous attention to detail and defensively he is very sound and that is an area which can be improved very quickly with proper coaching. He's also tactically flexible showing throughout his career that he can adapt the tactics and formations to suit the players at his disposal. That is much needed with us as we aren't going to be able to replace the entire team overnight.
And as I pointed out he'd be a transitional manager. He'd steady the ship for a few seasons while we sort out recruitment, get rid of players past their prime or not good enough, and formulate a long term football philosophy that will guide the appointment of the next manager.
If we keep Erik it will be more of the same next season. Bringing in a few good players in the summer isn't going to make a massive difference.
If we bring in an exciting innovative coach such as Motta or Amorim they are going to struggle because we do not have players with the technical ability or intelligence or discipline to implement innovative tactics. Clearly we don't want Southgate or Potter. Nagelsmann is extending with Germany. Zidane isn't interested.
So really Tuchel is the obvious choice for the job.

There is no way on earth ETH gets another year. He has failed comprehensively on every level, and everything around him has turned to shit even faster than it probably would have under, for example, Ole (or anyone else actually). One-trick Erevedivisie pony who has been found out in a humiliating manner.

Was the manager not involved? The answer to the question - "Who can we call to cremate a club in its death throes?"

One-trick Erevedivisie pony who has been found out in a humiliating manner. I had thought he might get a stay of execution but the last few performances have been dire. I can’t see him surviving now. We are a total mess and aren’t further down the league due to the likes of Bruno, Garnacho and occasionally Hojlund doing something special. Honestly, take Bruno out of that side and we’re probably 14th.

I’ve said many times that I wouldn’t replace the manager. I think he is done. The only question is whether there’s anyone who’d take the job who isn’t total shit.

Hard pass on McLaren. Good assistant manager but has proven time and again to not be a good manager. No improvement on Ten Hag at all, probably worse in fact.
I highly doubt Ten Hag is sacked before the final, but if he is, McKenna's season is finished...

The next guy has to have the personality for the job. I can’t watch another tepid wanker stand quietly and cluelessly on the sidelines why the side is getting twatted by the likes of Crystal Palace.

He started that way in a sense. Demanding positioning or quicker passing. Around the Ronaldo saga he started to give the man waiting for a bus stance, whether it was good or bad on the pitch.

Tuchel appears to be the favourite at the moment… Wont be my first preference but certainly levels above some of the other flavour of the month 'modern' managers who achieved absolutely nothing.
