The current report is that nothing has been confirmed to Erik. What’s going on? Probably leaked from Erik's side, INEOS wouldn't want this out there now, PR nightmare

The current report is that nothing has been confirmed to Erik. What’s going on? I think It comes down to stating the obvious from the socials. shit season shit CL campaign managers signings generally shit. etc.etc. with new people coming in at the top who will probably want their own man(as most new owners do) along with those new owners not really backing the incumbent it’s a well trodden path on the outcome.

I reckon a player leaked it. Presumably the decision was in recent weeks (the Coventry game alone was a sackable offence! and the Crystal Palace game should have cemented the decision) and we have been attempting to quietly do a handover process.
And leaking the news before the FA Cup then gives the players a ready made excuse if they get smashed by City and allows them to shift the blame to INEOS for unsettling them by sacking their manager before the game. And we all know that players have been leaking stuff all season.

Although it is also quite possible that a journalist simply joined the dots (Pochettino available, McKenna about to be snapped up by Chelsea if we don't move fast, INEOS refusing to give any public assurances to Erik or comment on speculation that he is going to get the sack, the likelihood that any announcement will be made after the FA Cup and therefore worth the risk of jumping the gun for a scoop, and our worst Premier League finish ever, and a series of embarassing perforances)
Anyway my guess is we will all know whether it is true or not after the weekend because INEOS will be forced to either make an announcement or speak out publicly to deny the rumours.

Whomever has leaked it hasn’t come from INEOS. Mental that some clueless twats are slating them. How mental would they be to leak the day before a final, this is not the Woodward era.
These guys know that they have to get things right because the club is a mess and if done wrong they are gonna loss a ton of money.

I don’t know who has leaked this. Could be anyone.
But we’re still Glazer owned with exactly the same people working behind the scenes as before INEOS were involved. So this is unsurprising.
It’s not nice anyway. I hope he was informed a few weeks ago. Otherwise someone finding out they’ve lost their job like this is awful.

"They told me only after it was leaked out, it was the biggest disappointment of my life," Van Gaal told Algemeen Dagblad. "The pressure was enormous with my head in the noose and they went right behind my back. I think it was all orchestrated like a film and it was done very much behind my back right from January [2016]. United put my head in a noose and I was publicly placed on the gallows.''
History repeats it would seem. Wouldn't surprise me at all if we quickly lined up a replacement making it clear that we've been interviewing potential replacements on the sly behind Erik's back.
Erik no doubt too classy to do the same thing even though Bayern Munich could do a lot worse than lining him up as a replacement and he'd actually have decent players to coach over there.

If it has just been sprung on him today, I'd do a mad team selection if i was him. Let the world know who's really been fucking him over

Sky are saying that no decision has been made and won’t be until after the final I think the decision was made some time ago(palace away or Coventry at a guess)and the players have got wind of it(hence the leak).

Just look at some of the names linked with us- Southgate, McKenna , DeZerbi , Potter , Pochetino. Does anyone really think they are the guys to break Pep's dominance in the league. Not going to happen now, not going to happen in next 5 years. Things have become so bad in the league most people are just happy to go toe to toe with city (see Arsenal). It has to be broken right now and iam not sure these small increments and improvements we plan to make every year is enough. Who is going to beat Pep and City? Tuchel and Conte have had time in the Prem and didn't do it. Klopp, for all we hate on him, is an amazing manager. And he couldn't do it. We have to accept that there are no better managers than Pep around now. Ancelotti might be a shout but who else? And he's at Real and going nowhere. It's the same as rival fans demanding someone stop Fergie. They couldn't, because he was the best. Mourinho and Wenger could for a while but he always rose to it and ended up back on top. The best hope is he leaves next year when his contract is up, and he's making noise about doing this. Then, hopefully, we're in a good spot to take advantage of the vacuum and get back on top. But if he stays another decade (and they get away with the charges) then they're going to win another 6 or 7 titles, it's that simple. Doesn't matter who United appoint. Conte did beat him when he was at Chelsea , i reckon he can do it again IF he is backed completely. Mourinho went up against Pep's Barca one of the greatest club sides of all time and managed to beat them. It can be done. Oh and Pep is not going to leave city , its almost perfect job for him , he has the best of everything on and off field. Its like playing with cheat codes.

Conte won the league in Pep’s first season in charge, before he’d built his team. Jose won the league once in Madrid. Neither of those two have overthrown Pep. They’ve beaten him one season out of however many. Same as Klopp.
