Sancho's exit probably pushed this summer to a 9/10 window. It could have reached a 10 if we were able to bring in another goalscorer. Not disliked a United player so much since Heinze and then Di Maria (both Argentinian, wierd). May well have funds for a January transfer or two! Yeah I have been wondering what we might do in January… Not relevant to the first team yet but there’s a Norwegian kid that we are looking at from Rosenberg…top ACM… Be nice to shift some more dross and maybe get a goal scorer…

I can see Casemiro being more effective when starting in Cup games, and coming off the bench.
Ugarte and Mainoo needs to be the core CM pairing.

United fan apparently so that helps.

Henry Winter is bang on here-
Manchester United had an exceptional window. Still need a lb (Dalot still good option there) and a few more goals (Zirkzee will provide some) but streetwise Ugarte brings more protection in front of back4, Mazraoui more attacking than Wan-Bissaka, Yoro ball-playing promise when fit. Work on outgoings by Ashworth/Wilcox arguably even more impressive. Offloaded wages/ages/surplus. Loaned out Sancho. Ended association with Greenwood. United working smarter in windows now. And, of course, have their own talent factory and must build around Mainoo and Garnacho. Ten Hag has been given the players. Down to him. And hope players stay fit.

Cue Chelsea realising how shit Sancho is and attempting to finish 15th.

It’s been a very very good window. A great start. ETH has nowhere to look now if things don’t go well, even the left back matter won’t cut it.
Hojlund and Shaw will be back after the international break and provided everyone else stays fit, he will have a fully fit squad to pick from. Tough decisions have to be made now, Rashford can’t start ahead of Garnacho. Bruno needs to be play as a 10, Ugarte has to start next to Mainoo.
I look at January with some optimism too as you’d expect lindelof to leave and maybe Eriksen.

Yeah, I never actually thought anyone would attempt the "open heart surgery" that Rangnick (rightly) said was needed at the club but INEOS have certainly made a lot of vital incisions.

They've done an INCREDIBLE job on player sales. If you count the Hannibal and Sancho money we'll received next summer we've raised around £120m from player sales without even needing to sell any first team players and with the sell on clauses the final figure could be a lot more. Our wage bill is considerably reduced. With the funds raised we've brought in 5 new first team players as well as a bunch of promising teenagers who'll come through the ranks over the next 3-5 years.
Getting £50m for problem children like Sancho and Greenwood is fantastic especially with the huge sell on percentage we inserted in the Greenwood deal.
Replacing AWB with Mazraoui for a minimal net spend was masterful and we now have two full backs who can play on both flanks and provide an attacking threat.
Ugarte is just what the doctor ordered and we even managed to negotiate a lower price after PSG held firm for most of the summer.
We sensibly walked away from the Branthwaite deal and for only about £10-£20m more than Everton wanted for him signed De Ligt AND Yoro. One of the best defenders in the world and one of the future best defenders in the world.
And we also resisted the temptation to go for cheap short term fixes such as Toney, Rabiot, Sterling etc.
Onana aside our defence is as good as anyone's. Same is true of midfield.
Attack is the main issue. Neither of Amad, Hojlund or Garnacho is the finished article and Rashford has regressed considerably. But attack is a hard area to strengthen as it requires a considerable outlay and I think we were right to focus on defence and midfield instead. Zirzkee was a good value buy and provides some cover upfront but isn't a proven goal scorer. Still we can see how everyone progresses over this season and next summer we can then prioritize attack.
And probably next summer we might also require a managerial change.
But another summer like this and I think we will be ready to challenge for the title and that is way ahead of schedule so INEOS are to be commended.

Finally Sancho has gone. As much grief as Pogba got, that guy was different gravy to this flop. As frustrating as Pogba was, it’s an insult to him to be compared to Sancho. Not by much. Pogba had a higher ceiling but still failed to produce anything close to it, attitude wise they're not much different either. Both on more than one occasion disrespected the club or the fans. Just glad we'll never him in a United shirt ever again. One of the biggest wastes of money we've ever had. On par with Pogba and Di Maria for being complete and utter wastes of space. Good fucking riddance.

Nah, c'mon now, Pogba for all his faults did a lot more for United than Sancho ever did. If Zlatan had his shooting boots on he would've had about 50 assists one season

Pogba had moments, he was a creative force when we lacked one. Hollywood passes at its best. But he was riddled with attitude, inconsistency and turnovers. Sancho had a goal v Liverpool and fuck all else.
