We still need a world class cf next summer, but a new manager alone with an actual system will hopefully start to see us stick a few more goals in.

Also as we’ve seen already with Weghorst you can get players out of loan deals so maybe in January we could offer Galatasaray some compensation and offer Napoli a loan fee

If we are not all over this we should be ashamed… This is only happening because he played the wrong hand, and had high demands. Napoli put their foot down and the European window lapsed. He’s not welcome in the squad so his only option is turkey or outside Europe or don’t play till January.

I dont see that happeneing, unless ETH departs and even then it won't solve the big problem. In 2 summers we've bought Hojlund for 65mil pounds and Zirkzee for 40mil pounds both on 5 yr contracts. We saw what Holjund was capable of when properly fed the ball.... that needs to be address before buying a World Class CF because then we will just have 200mil in strikers that still not scoring because the people around them can't do their job.

Not sure I’d pay 75 or 130 for him

His entire tenure has been a failure. Trophies are good, no doubt. But this is an utter and abject disgrace.

Osimhen is a no-brainer, you would hope we're all over that in January.

Pointless making any more signings until the manager is fucked off.

Pointless making any more signings until the manager is fucked off. Exactly this. 3 points from 3 games. -3 goal difference. Enough. Fuck off.

Pointless making any more signings until the manager is fucked off. It'll be made easier then by him not reaching another window. Because if he carries on that's what will happen. After the summer we had and the changes off the field I genuinely thought we'd started to turn a corner and that things would reflect on the pitch. In reality, so far nothing at all has changed.

Osimhen in January makes a lot of sense. We have room in our squad for 3 strikers (especially as Zirzkee is more of a number 10 than a number 9 and also probably not that good as primary attraction was the price). Next summer he will just have a year left on his contract so I am sure we can agree a loan + obligation to buy deal with 75m euros seeming a fair price to pay. He's one of the most prolific strikers in Europe and only 25 years old so we should be moving heaven and earth to get it done. He'll demand high wages but he probably knows he won't get Saudi wages here and £300k a week should be enough to persuade him and we've got Sancho off our payroll so we have room for that.
And he will then have the rest of the season to bed in and get used to the Premier League and then next summer we can get a new permanent manager, make a few more shrewd additions (another winger, another midfielder, a left back), get rid of a few more players and I genuinely then think if we get a high calibre manager and invest well on players (including Osimhen) then we can challenge for the title next season.
Erik doesn't have long left. SJR had his head in his hands during the Liverpool game and he came this close to sacking Erik in the summer. Our impressive summer business will have impressed potential managerial candidates. And if we line someone good up for the summer then a caretaker manager like Ruud will be an improvement on Erik and can at least get us back to basics.

Is there any concern that all the ex-Ajax players signed to play with ETH and will be a issue if he's sacked? Antony I could give a shit about because as far as I'm concerned he's already got one foot out the door just need someone to take him. Licha, De Light, Onana, Mazraoui are all his former players... I don't believe they will but something that popped in to my head. Garnacho, Mainoo, and Hojlund all seem to love him but I believe like Licha they are United through and through

Non-issue. Being their former manager did nothing to help Erik get a tune out of Antony or Donny or Onana. De Ligt and Mazraoui have played under different managers at Bayern (and Juve as well in De Ligt’s case) and are good players. Martinez is any manager’s dream if he could only stay fit. And Onana probably needs upgrading but he was better at Inter and in a more organised team might be able to be a bit steadier.
At this point the biggest problem is the manager. We have a squad good enough to finish top four.
